Toffs to the right of ‘em, social workers to the left of ‘em. - The Slog

Can we have some real people back in politics please?
Lord McAlpine having spent the last week politicising the libel process, the fine Councillors of Rotherham yesterday demonstrated that the Left too can stomp about in the seedbed of liberty sporting lead overshoes.
The decision by Rotherham Council and two of its social workers to remove three non-white kids from successful parents because they vote UKip beggars belief. The Council’s firm line on “standing by” its decision suggests they don’t know the first thing about democracy (or indeed UKip). It should also be grounds for using the old Thatcher law about local incompetence, and have them removed from the governing process.
It would be hard to imagine a better opportunity for The Slog to demonstrate why its dislike of both Left and Right is far from either negative or wishy-washy. On the one hand we are presented with a right-wing manipulator using ambulance chasers to strangle opposition. And on the other we make the acquaintance of Stalinists determined to use children as a means of strangling political incomers.
Yet oddly enough, we come back full circle to the same background: vital areas of social governance being rendered dysfunctional by political agendas. And specifically, we come back to the same place: the protection of our children.
While leaping Lord Alistair and slavishly right-on social workers continue to make their heavy-handed points, we the People are left with nothing but abuse of a system upon which we depend. Vindictive and lawless, these extremists continue to blight our culture for the sake of discredited polemics.

Russia Sends Warships To Gaza Coast

Tyler Durden's picture For the entire 8 day duration of Operation Pillar of Defense, there was one major geopolitical player who had been largely quiet and certainly absent from the scene: the same player whose unflinching position over the Syria conflict has so far prevented any intervention in the civil war torn country: Russia. The same Russia which has a military base in the Syrian port city of Tarsus, and thus in its own eyes, a very substantial "national interest" role to play in the middle east, one that is certainly opposing that of the US and the pro-NATO forces, a tension that will surely boil to the surface now that war between Iran and Israel is always at most "hours away" depending on who is asked, and which one day will be more than just a war of words. Today, Russia decided that it had kept quiet for too long over the Gaza conflict, with Voice of Russia reporting, courtesy of Al Arabiya, that Russian warships anchored off the eastern coast of the Mediterranean Sea will be put on military alertness should the conflict in Gaza escalate and brought in proximity, according Russian Navy Command source on Friday.
Sure enough, there is a diplomatic reason for the escalation: evacuation preparedness. To wit: "The detachment of combat ships of the Black Sea Fleet, including the Guards missile cruiser Moskva, the patrol ship Smetliviy, large landing ships Novocherkassk and Saratov, the sea tug MB-304 and the big sea tanker Ivan Bubnov, got the order to remain in the designated area of the Eastern part of the Mediterranean Sea for a possible evacuation of Russian citizens from the area of the Gaza strip in case of escalation of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict”,

Palestinian Authority rejects calls to postpone statehood bid

RT: Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas says he intends on pressing forward with a statehood bid at the United Nations next week. He has turned down requests from the US, Britain, Germany and France to delay the bid.
Abbas will formally request that the UN General Assembly upgrade the Palestinian Authority’s (PA) status from observer to nonmember state on November 29. The Assembly will be asked to vote on the measure.
“There is nothing that stops us from obtaining the status of non-member observer…we are sure that the countries of the free world will support us,” Abbas said in a statement.
Palestinian officials told Al-Ayyam news that they hoped the recent Israeli Defense Forces operation in Gaza would encourage countries to vote in favor of upgrading the PA's status.
Officials said they would spend the coming days attempting to persuade European Union governments to vote in favor of the bid. The PA is, however, expecting most EU countries to abstain during the vote.
The PA said it expects the Assembly to vote two-thirds in favor of granting the PA nonmember status.
Unsurprisingly, the US is not expected to be part of that two-thirds bloc.
Chief Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erekat said earlier this week that zionist shill twat Hillary Clinton told Abbas that Palestinians “would destroy themselves politically” by pressing forward with the bid.

Colossal Collapse Coming! - Max Keiser with Ian Williams + The Truth About Shopping Stampedes and the Global Central Bank Run

Max Keiser and Stacy Herbert note that the bell has rung for the bond market top as one of the biggest private equity funds in the world is seeking 'ordinary' investors to assume their long term interest rate risk. In the second half, Max Keiser talks to Ian Williams of Charteris Treasury Portfolio Managers about his forecast for silver prices to rise five fold in the next 3 three years while US Treasury bonds and UK gilts will face collapse. Ian Williams also suggests that it is commercial banks rather than central banks that will return us to a new style of gold standard.

Iran points out US Navy's ‘illegal acts’ in Gulf

RT: Iran has blamed the US Navy for illegal and provocative acts near its coastline, including violations of country’s airspace. Formal accusations of these charges were filed with both the UN chief and the UN Security Council.
The two identical letters to Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and the UNSC were delivered on Friday by Iran’s envoy to the United Nations, Ambassador Mohammad Khazaee.
He cited several incidents of reported unauthorized flights over the coastal regions around Bushehr in October, where a Russian-built nuclear power plant is located. Khazaee also said that a US drone crossed into Iranian airspace on November 1, despite radio warnings.
Tehran urged Ban to warn the US against the continuation of acts in violation of international law and of the adverse consequences of any provocative and dangerous acts for which the United States government would be held responsible.”
The White House did not immediately comment on the allegations.
The November 1 incident, the latest mentioned in the complaint, involved two Iranian fighter jets shooting at an American Predator drone. The unmanned aircraft was performing a reconnaissance mission over the Gulf, and returned safely to base after the encounter.

The destruction of ex-King David: Jerusalem Crumbles

By Richard Cottrell: The schadenfreude presently choking the American media, thicker than the worst Los Angeles smog, is sickening. Day by day the outer layers of King David are steadily peeled away to reveal the small and rather sad human being underneath.

The reduction of the nation’s former most senior field general to the level of a diminished pygmy has no real parallel in US history. Yet this public flaying is much less concerned with Petraeus than the real and present peril to the presidency if the truth about Benghazi should emerge.

So far the score reads thus: Petraeus, down and out; General John Allen, who wrote more e-mails to the temptress Kelley than there were scrolls in the Alexandrian Library before it was set ablaze, stumbling and probably out. Next in frame is Susan Rice, ambassador to the UN, who finds herself impaled on the Benghazi hook to such an extent that her chances of succeeding Hillary Clinton at the State Department may be disappearing fast.

Rice was the patsy put up to propagate the official White House/State Department mantra that a mob inflamed by a profane YouTube clip demeaning the prophet of Islam responded by furiously assaulting the consulate in Benghazi.

Hating the Rich - Ludwig von Mises Institute of Canada

By In the midst of the extramarital affair scandal involving former CIA director David Petraeus, the mansion which mistress-turned-media target Paula Broadwell is hiding out in was revealed by the Daily Mail. This $2.3 mansion contains seven bedrooms and five bathrooms and is owned by Broadwell’s brother. Some are pointing to the mammoth home as yet another symbol of the vast inequality that pervades the West. It is said that to see the house is to have a glimpse at how the “other side” lives- the other side being subtly hinted to as that of the undeserving bourgeoisie.
In many respects, much of this loathing is well deserved for Ms. Broadwell and her brother Stephen Kranz. A former trial lawyer for the U.S. Department of Justice, Tax Division and Chief Counsel for the District of Columbia’s Office of Tax and Revenue, Kranz is currently a partner at the D.C. law firm Sutherland. Much of his career has focused on the tax code. It appears that he once used the code as a weapon to shakedown other Americans in the service of Uncle Sam.
Today, he advocates for taxpayers but the fact remains that he owes his standard of living to the formalized thieving racket the state labels taxation.
So to some degree, a bit of detestation is warranted at Kranz. But consider former presidential candidate Mitt Romney. During the beauty pageant (otherwise called campaign) to become president, the former Governor’s immense wealth was used a basis for attack. He was regularly mocked for the various homes he owned and his net worth of around $250 million. He was criticized for being out of touch with how the majority of the country lived and felt. In other words, he wasn’t a real man of the people.

UK Jewish MP: Israel acting like Nazis in Gaza

"Israel was born out of Jewish Terrorism" Tzipi Livnis Father was a Terrorist" Astonishing claims in the House of Parliament. SIR Gerald Kaufman, the veteran Labour MP, yesterday compared the actions of Israeli troops in Gaza to the Nazis who forced his family to flee Poland.

During a Commons debate on the fighting in Gaza, he urged the government to impose an arms embargo on Israel.

Sir Gerald, who was brought up as an orthodox Jew and Zionist, said: "My grandmother was ill in bed when the Nazis came to her home town a German soldier shot her dead in her bed.

"My grandmother did not die to provide cover for Israeli soldiers murdering Palestinian grandmothers in Gaza. The present Israeli government ruthlessly and cynically exploits the continuing guilt from gentiles over the slaughter of Jews in the Holocaust as justification for their murder of Palestinians."
