Bally Hero Bradley Manning demands dismissal of his case due to inhuman punishment

Army Pfc. Bradley Manning. (Reuters / Jose Liis Magaua)Bradley Manning is expected to testify in a pretrial hearing that he has been punished illegally by being locked in solitary confinement. The whistleblower hopes that his inhumane punishment is grounds for having all charges against him dismissed.
Manning, who is accused of sending classified information to WikiLeaks, will testify in a pretrial hearing in Fort Meade, Maryland.
“Until now we’ve only heard from Bradley through his family and lawyers, so it’s going to be a real insight into his personality to hear him speak for himself for the first time,” said Jeff Paterson of the Bradley Manning Support Network.
Manning’s lawyers will maintain that his treatment in a small cell at the Marine Corps brig in Quantico, Virginia was illegal and unnecessarily severe. If pretrial punishment is particularly flagrant, military judges have the right to dismiss all charges.
Manning, a 24-year-old Army private and intelligence analyst, was allegedly involved in the largest security breach in US history and was charged with 22 crimes, including violating the Espionage Act and aiding the enemy. He allegedly accessed 250,000 US diplomatic cables, 500,000 army reports, and videos of the 2007 Baghdad airstrike and the 2009 Granai airstrike, and sending them to the whistleblower website WikiLeaks for publication in 2010. He is the only suspect arrested for his involvement in the security leak.
But while awaiting trial in Quantico from July 2010 to April 2011, he was allegedly mistreated, sparking human rights concerns from Amnesty International, the United Nations and the British government. The UN referred to his treatment as cruel, inhuman and degrading. Leading law scholars and PJ Crowley, former spokesman at the US Department of State, have resigned from their positions in protest of Manning’s treatment.

In 72 hours, the Palestinians will take a bid for statehood to the UN -- it could be the best chance for peace in decades, but the UK is still on the fence and our push could turn the tide.

Most of the world supports the bid and polls say 72% of Brits want a Palestinian state. But so far Cameron is bowing to US pressure to abstain and our voices are the only weapon that have a chance to beat back their bullying. If the Palestinians win their UN bid, it could begin to end the 40 years of occupation, and pave the way for two states.

Number 10 has not yet pronounced its position and is deciding right now.

Yasser Arafat’s body exhumed: Poison probe ahead of UN vote

RT: The remains of Yasser Arafat have been exhumed as experts try to ascertain what exactly the zionists used to poison the Palestinian leader. The probe comes less than a week after the ceasefire between Gaza and Israel and precedes a UN vote on Palestine’s nation status.
Traces of a radioactive substance were found of Arafat’s effects in July, adding impetus to the theory he was murdered.
The procedure began at 05:00 GMT and was carried out in the presence of French, Russian and Swiss experts to verify its validity. Scientists took samples of Arafat’s bones, which they will take back to their respective countries. There they will be analyzed for traces of radioactive material and other lethal substances.
Experts have said a full investigation into the causes of Arafat’s death could take several months.
Journalists were prohibited from attending the exhumation “because [of the] sanctity of the symbol and the sanctity of this event,”

Source: Deutsche Bank Fulfilled Recent Gold Repatriation Request With Tungsten Salted Gold + GOLD FRAUD EXCLUSIVE: EU and Asian sources allege the tungsten-switch has gone sovereign - The Slog

An Austrian banking source has reportedly claimed that Deutsche Bank ‘fulfilled’ one gold repatriation in recent years with the help of Tungsten and further claims that the tungsten salted gold bars have turned up in Asia.
In 2009, Rob Kirby first uncovered detailed information regarding a massive plot to replace 400 oz good delivery gold bars with highly sophisticated tungsten filled fakes- and even provided evidence that the bars had been swapped with the gold held at Fort Knox.
Widely scoffed at by the financial media in 2009, Kirby appears to have released a Pulitzer worthy story nearly half a decade ahead of its time, as if the Austrian source’s claims are true and Deutsche Bank has in fact fulfilled a recent gold repatriation request with gold plated tungsten, the ramifications are that not only is every single claim made by GATA regarding gold and silver manipulation are 100% accurate, but that real, physical metal is now in desperately short supply and the jig is nearly up for the bullion bank cartel.
This is not 10 small retail PAMP bars found in the Manhattan jewelry district in which a retail jeweler was duped, but a sophisticated con of epic proportions, in which one of the world’s largest bullion banks has reportedly attempted to con a large client.

Obama legalizes the illegal, targets innocents

Press TV: Wikileaks founder Julian Assange was bitterly right when he said US President Barack Obama seems to be a nice man, and that is precisely the problem and aptly described him as awolf in sheep’s clothing.

Under the pretext of combating terrorism, Obama has followed in the footsteps of former President George Bush and even intensified the killer drone attacks in different parts of the world, a move which has terminated in the unfortunate deaths of multitudes of innocent people. President Obama argues that the drone strikes are focused efforts to exterminate people who are on a list of active terrorists and that they have not caused huge human losses.

Pakistani lawyer Shahzad Akbar, who represents families of civilians killed in US killer drone strikes, says, "Either President Obama is lying to the nation, or he is too naive, to believe on the reports which CIA is presenting to [him]."

The Fed’s Nuclear Balance Sheet. Stand Back - This Baby’s Going to Explode

By Mitch Feierstein author of Planet Ponzi:
Over the coming weeks, we’re going to be hearing a lot about the ‘fiscal cliff’: the threat that some 5% of GDP is going to be ripped out of the economy in a combination of tax hikes and spending cuts. A fiscal slow-down on that scale will almost certainly trigger recession. The CBO thinks so, though their numbers look optimistic to me. (If you cut demand by 5%, more or less overnight, then you shouldn’t expect the economy to grow by more than 1% in the year following.)
The Feds solution to debt: more debt
The Feds solution to debt: more debt
Because the process of fiscal compromise acts itself out on the political stage – all big personalities and high drama – the media loves to report it. Loves to imply that vast questions are at stake, that political careers will stand or fall by the outcome.

Move, move, move and die! Move and fuckin’ die!”
By Madison Ruppert: There is no shortage of disturbing videos and stories dealing with disturbing episodes of police brutality and yet I still manage to be appalled by the actions of some out of control police officers.

Even with brutal assaults on 66-year-olds for no reason, highly suspicious deaths related to police violence, and even outright homicide (with no consequences, of course), this particular video is especially troubling.

Not good enough: UN says Japan is underestimating nuclear fallout risks

RT: A UN official charged with investigating Japan’s handling of the health risks from the Fukushima nuclear disaster in 2011 says the authorities are not doing enough to protect the population from effects of the accident.
Anand Grover, a UN special rapporteur on the right to health, says the Japanese government is not screening enough of its people, and is being overly optimistic with radiation exposure thresholds.
Grover has just conducted an independent on-site report for the government.
Currently, only residents of the Fukushima area surrounding the power plant that failed after the tsunami and earthquake caused its reactors to melt down in March 2011 are given medical screening. Only a quarter of the region’s 2 million people have been tested so far.
Grover believes that the check-ups should be extended throughout the North East of Japan, as radiation may have spread in an unpredictable pattern.
The government has to err on the side of caution," he said.
He is also upset the government has chosen to play down the risks associated with radiation exposure. It has labelled only contaminated areas around the plant with radiation of above 20 millisieverts per year as off-limits. These are the limits adopted by radiation industry workers, who are properly trained in handling contaminated materials, and exceed similar civilian limits by over three times.

Egypt's Market Plunge, US Food Bank Drought, & Turkish Gold Trade with Michael Krieger!

Egypt's President Mohamed Morsi struggles to resolve a political crisis created after he granted himself new powers by decree on Thursday. The edicts sent tens of thousands of protesters and supporters into the streets, and today Morsi may have prolonged the showdown as he told the country's top judges he stands within his rights. This turmoil has also sent the Egyptian stock market plunging, with the largest drop since the Arab Spring uprisings in Egypt began.
