'US gun laws row masks police state'

The apparent dispute in the United States over gun control laws is a ploy to mask the country's aggressive foreign policy and the fact that it is a police state, an analyst tells Press TV.

The comments come as US President Barack Obama has presented a 500-million dollar proposal that calls for a ban on military-style assault weapons and high-capacity ammunition magazines, as well as wider background checks on gun buyers.

Press TV has conducted an interview with Eric Draister, a political analyst from New York, to further discuss the issue.  Source
