Iran launches two new TV channels despite Orwellian U.S. sanctions

UK and Europe Banned Press TV: Two new TV channels at Iranians' homes. Iran launches Salamat and Tamasha television channels. Salamat channel broadcasts programs having to do with health, hygiene and medication while Tamasha focuses on films and series. These channels are available across the country via digital transmitters.

This is while the West has tried to take Iranian channels such as Press TV, Alalam and Ifilm off air despite the fact that their act is against freedom of speech. Iranian president believes such problems are not going to end until Iran launches its own satellite.

The president of Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting, IRIB believes Iranian news channels are not the only targets by the west. Iran's Minister of Culture who was present at the inauguration ceremony, said that the West wants to paint an unrealistic picture of Iranians.

Hispa sat satellite took Iran's Hispan TV off air on January 18th, and Galaxy 19 did the same to Press TV and IFilm on February 10th.
