By Adam Man: Patriarchy is the belief in a society that caters to men and gives these
men special advantages simply for being a man. It is the core to
feminist philosophy as feminism states that patriarchy exists throughout
the world and women are put below men, and that these women deserve
equal rights. But does this patriarchy really exist. Yes, but not in
the western world. The only piece of the world where feminism is
active. To feminists in areas such as Africa and Asia I support your
cause women are treated as objects and not people. However to the
overwhelming majority of feminists operating in areas such as the UK and
the USA, you have special privileges that you refuse to recognize as
you are brainwashed from birth with feminist doctrine.Now, with that being said I intend to debunk patriarchy theory in the western world and hope to explain, feminists why it no longer exists. I'd go so far as to say feminism has instilled a matriarchal society in the west.
Common "proof" of the patriarchy is the fact that the majority of politicians are male. Which is true, most people holding public office are men. Glad to know you can see. But is this really a symbol of patriarchy? I'd have to say it's not. Statistics show that more than half of voters in the western world are women. So if this is a sign of patriarchy WOMEN are the ones enforcing it. But it isn't a sign of patriarchy. The thing is that the majority of people who run for public office are men, and a woman can't win if she doesn't run. And anyone can run. For example the only requirements for running for president of the united states is you have to be born in the country and be 35. There are literally millions of women who fit these requirements and could run, but they don't. Hillary Clinton is the only female who runs with any shot at winning at the moment. See feminists who believes this is patriarchal here's the logic. Most sane people don't vote for a candidate simply based on what's between there legs. They vote based on the quality of the candidate. They're experience what they promise to do with the office they'll be holding. I'm not voting for Obama instead of Hillary because Obama's a man. I'm voting for Obama because I think he's the right person for the job. And to those people who think I'm supporting Obama I'm not, just using him as an example... I didn't like him or Romney so don't get angry over me not supporting your candidate my fellow Americans.
Another piece of "evidence" for patriarchy lies in the fact that men make more than women on average. And there's reasons why this is also not evidence at all. The human race is a sexually dimorphic species, one of these sexes gets pregnant, and that would be the lovely ladies. Now when a woman gets pregnant she usually takes time off from work to have the child. Let's use my mother for example. When she became pregnant with me she left work and raised me and my two siblings for thirteen years before once again focusing on her career. Now during those thirteen years of being a stay at home mom what did you think was happening to the men that weren't having children? They were going to work for thirteen years, and naturally were getting raises and promotions. It is also statistical fact that women work less hours than men, again this is statistics, I'm not saying all women do this just the average woman. So when you complain about being paid less don't blame "THE PATRIARCHY" blame biology and your own life choices.
Now that we've debunked the "evidence" for patriarchy lets look at the patriarchy itself. Feminists, do you believe that men are having secret meetings where we find new ways to discriminate against women? Do you think that the second tuesday of every month all the men get together and figure out ways to put themselves above women? As a man, I can honestly say that's not happening. For a patriarchy to exist the majority of men in the nation must believe women are inferior to men. IN the western world this isn't true. Most men in the west believe that men and women are equal and should have equal rights. They're what I like to call classical or real feminists. Very different from modern feminists which believe women should be placed above men. Seriously ladies when women are able to have free contraceptives handed out to them by the government. As well as have private businesses and schools have quotas for female employees and students. That's not a patriarchy, that's a matriarchy, a society where women have special privileges. Seriously there's more evidence of the Illuminate then there is patriarchy in the modern western world.
