Protesters In New York City Hold Rally Against Apartheid Israel

People in New York City have staged a large rally in front of the Israeli mission to the United Nations, condemning Israeli apartheid against Palestinians.
Orwellian UK BANNED Press TV: The protesters, who were chanting “Free Palestine,” expressed their anger over the serial arrests of Palestinians over the alleged abduction of three Israeli settlers two weeks ago.
“Israel has arrested over 500 Palestinians so far, including many people who were released from prison. It also proves that Israel never ever lives up to its promises,” said Rabab Ibrahim Abdulhadi, a professor at the San Francisco State University, who took part in the rally.
She also condemned Israel’s raids into Palestinian homes and the killing of Palestinians as she said five Palestinians have been martyred and assassinated in the last week.”
“So, we are protesting continuing Israeli colonization and occupation of Palestine,” Abdulhadi added.
Hundreds of Palestinians, including Hamas members and lawmakers, have been arrested since the settlers went missing on June 12, Palestinian officials have confirmed.
Several Palestinians have also been shot dead during the search operations, triggering international condemnation.

Meanwhile, Israeli warplanes have intensified airstrikes on the Gaza Strip.
International lawyer Benjamin Dictor, who also took part in the rally against Israel in New York City, said Washington is complicit in Tel Aviv’s atrocities.
“We provide enormous amounts of money on an annual basis to Israel to fund their military which actively carries out the crimes we’re seeing in the West Bank and in Gaza,” Dictor told Press TV.
Under a current 10-year deal with Israel – singed in 2007 by the previous administration – $3 billion of American taxpayers’ money is flowing to Israel every year.
Israel is reportedly pressing the incumbent Democratic administration for an increase in Washington’s military aid after 2017 when the current deal expires.
A US official briefed on talks over an increase in US military told Reuters last month that Israel is seeking an overall increase to between $3.2 billion and $3.5 billion a year.
