The Truth About Ayn Rand: Objectivism [2 of 4]

Stefan Molyneux: What is the truth behind Ayn Rand, writer of such blockbuster novels as 'The Fountainhead,' 'Atlas Shrugged,' 'Anthem' and 'We The Living'? Rand - and her philosophy Objectivism - have been enormously influential to public figures as diverse as Paul Ryan, Ron Paul, Rand Paul, Rush drummer Neil Peart, Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry, Hunter S. Thompson, Murray Rothbard, John Stossel, Penn Jillette and many others.
Some of her adherents - such as former Federal Reserve Chairman Allan Greenspan - have been criticized for enacting Rand's 'Virtue of Selfishness.'

Meet The World's First "Undercover, Super-Secret Central Banker"

Tyler Durden's picture First a secret "Doomsday book", and now this?
Flash back to those days in September 2008 when the financial system was on the verge of collapse and when first Lehman failed and then AIG was knocking on heaven's door. While the story of the former has been written, it is the still incomplete history of the latter that is the reason why Hank Greenberg, the largest shareholder of AIG at the time, is suing the US government for bailing out AIG, alleging the US exorted shareholders when it provided a $182 billion bailout to the insurance company whose Joseph Cassano had seemingly sold insurance on every insolvent mortgage-related security: a strategy which worked in a rising market and led to a near systemic catastrophe when the market crashed.
We won't debate the merits of Greenberg's lawsuit, which is currently raging in court under STARR INTERNATIONAL COMPANY V. UNITED STATES, U.S. Court of Federal Claims 11-cv-00779 (it should be painfully clear by now that neither AIG nor crony capitalism as it exists now would have survived had Goldman and its NY Fed branch not extended several trillion in taxpayer funds to preserve the status quo), however we will note one thing: recall that when the terms of the AIG bailout first made waves in 2010 courtesy of Darrell Issa we found out something pecliar: none of the members of the Fed had any intentions on making their procedure public.

Violent Wife And Family Court Highway Robbery

"..it has nothing to do with who is the victim or who is the perpetrator. It has to do with who is the man and who is the woman."
It’s the ninth day of Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Today’s In His Own Words is about “Dirk’s” marriage and divorce from a violent wife who was aided and abetted by Family Court to commit highway robbery.
By : My ex-wife and I met online in 2000. She seemed very intelligent, having graduated summa cum laude from an Ivy League school and also having a law degree from the one of the best law schools in the world, in a field in which the degree-granting institute determines the trajectory of one’s career. She said she had saved enough money to quit her high-stress job (12 hours a day) on the partner track at one of the most powerful law firms in the world in order to have children, either from a sperm bank or by finding a husband.
She said that she wanted to be engaged within 3 months of the first date. I told her that it would be better to take a bit longer and she agreed to a 6-month extension. She said that her goals were to deliver a baby, buy a new home, move to a new city, and get a new job, all within 12 months of the wedding. She got a new job and we had a baby, moved into a new home four days later, and celebrated our first wedding anniversary four days after that.

Cyberviolence - Shameless White Knight Canadian Government Allocates $1.1M For Women & Girls, ZERO For The Majority Afflicted Men & Boys

By Attila L. Vinczer: Kellie Leitch, Status of Women Minister, announced that $1.1 million has been allocated to fund eight programs dealing with cyberviolence against women and girls. Last month, another $25 million was committed over a five-year period to combat violence against Aboriginal women and girls. No funding has been committed to address cyberviolence against men and boys, who are just as susceptible as being victims as women and girls.
There has been a lot of heightened attention to cyberviolence since Rehtaeh Parsons committed suicide after being bullied on the Internet. According to research led by Dr. Sarah Pedersen in the UK, boys are more subject to cyberbullying—so it’s not just a girls’ thing: “In the sample more adolescent males admitted to both having been bullied (68%) and carrying out bullying behaviour on-line (50%) compared to adolescent females (49% and 33% respectively).”
During the Toronto DV Symposium this past June in Toronto, PhDs and scholars discussed the lack of attention to issues such as domestic violence as it affects men and boys. Professor Martin S. Fiebert, the keynote speaker, asked that the mainstream media report the science: that men and women are equally responsible for domestic violence.

Ebola Pandemic Hits Germany, Turkey, And Australia As Infected Spanish Nurse Went Un-Quarantined For A Week - Otherwise... "Contained"

ShareDespite the still confident exclamations from officials that the Ebola pandemic is 'contained', more and more nations are admitting to Ebola-symptomatic cases or bringing infected patients back from Africa for treatment. Australia has its first potential case of the deadly disease, as Bloomberg reports a nurse who returned from volunteering in Africa has developed Ebola-like symptoms. Despite claims that Nigeria's outbreak is over, a Turkish worker there has been hospitalized in Istanbul after signs of high fever and diarrhea. Health officials from Germany confirm a 3rd Ebola patient has arrived in the country - having contracted the disease in Liberia. And finally, just as in the sad case of Thomas Duncan in Dallas, The Guardian reports the infected Spanish nurse went untreated and unquarantined for a week despite reporting symptoms at least three times to hospital officials. It seems the world is ill-prepared for this..
Bloomberg reports, a nurse who treated Ebola patients with the Red Cross in Sierra Leone was hospitalized in Australia after developing a low-grade fever, health officials said. She is being tested for the deadly virus.

Genocidal Apartheid JSIL Must Pay For Gaza Crimes: Palestine PM

Palestinian Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah says the Tel Aviv regime must be held responsible for crimes it committed in the Gaza Strip during its latest deadly war on the coastal enclave.
Zionist Shill UK Regulator BANNED Press TV: The remarks were made by the Palestinian prime minister on Thursday after his arrival in Gaza, where the unity government is scheduled to meet for the first time since its formation four months ago.
"[The government seeks] to internationalize the Palestinian cause, provide protection to the Palestinians and punish Israel for [its policy] of collective punishment," Hamdallah said.
The Palestinian premier called for an end to the Israeli occupation and the siege of Gaza.
“We have come…to relieve our people in Gaza and rebuild what has been destroyed by the Israeli war machinery," he added.

The Perfect 'Kondratieff Winter' Storm Ahead

The following chart-heavy presentation from Grant Williams is among his best as he wends his way methodically from the 19th century to the present day (and into the future) examining "The Consequences of the Economic Peace." From Keynes to Kondratieff and from Napoleon to Nixon, Williams looks at the ramifications of several decades of easy credit and attempts to draw parallels with a time in history when the world looked remarkably similar to how it does now (as he notes "that last time didn’t end so well, I’m afraid.") The real day of reckoning (Williams notes rather ominously), when the unconscionable level of debt that has been built up during the fiat money era finally topples over under its own weight like the giant wave in The Perfect Storm, lies ahead of us.

Authored by Grant Williams via Mauldin Economics,
In 1920, a year AFTER the Treaty of Versailles, a Russian economist called Nikolai Kondratieff founded something he named The Institute of Conjuncture, at which he and a team of fellow economists studied, yes, conjuncture — or business cycles, with a particular focus on the long waves they identified within those cycles.
Over the years since Kondratieff first laid out his theory on long-wave cycles, a tremendous debate has ensued as to the usefulness of such long-term prognostication; but there is one very good reason why I (and many others) believe there to be a significant advantage gained through the study of long-wave cycles...

I Tried To Kill Myself After Dating A Personality Disordered Woman - IHOW

It is day 8 of Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Today’s story is from an Indian man, “Pankaj,” who went to the depths of despair and back after being in a very abusive relationship with a woman he suspects has Borderline Personality Disorder.
: I have been a quiet lurker on Shrink4Men for past 1 year now. This site has helped me tremendously, so when an opportunity came where I could share my story with other users on this site, I couldn’t stop myself. Before I begin I want to clarify that English isn’t my first language. Please pardon me in case I make mistakes.
About me: I am from India , I grew up in the capital and am from what you would call as “lower middle class” , (I added “middle” as saving grace.) I love fixing things, I love helping people out, it gives me a sense of importance. I had a hard childhood, I grew up in a broken home, father was never around, but my mother helped me a lot. She ensured I got very good education. As I grew up I studied engineering. Logic and rational thinking have always been my strength. I also used to stutter as a child; hence I was an introverted teenager. In short, I had a hard childhood, fixing compulsions, rescuer tendencies, and a people pleaser — I was the perfect prey for a BPD girl and this is my story.
