Child Poverty Jumps By 2.6 Million In Developed World Since 2008, While Number Of Global Billionaires Doubles

By Michael Krieger: Two headlines came across my screens today, which taken together pretty much sum up the effects of policy decisions made by Central Bankers and politicians since the financial crisis. The financial oligarchs got bailed out, and the rich got richer due to decisions made by “leaders” around the globe. As such, the entire planet has now been transformed into a neo-feudal tinderbox. Myself and countless others warned all the way back to 2008 that this is what would happen, and here you have it.
Let’s first examine the results from Oxfam’s report on the billionaire growth spurt. I hope all 1,645 of you have sent thank you notes to the patron saint of oligarchy: Ben Bernanke. From NBC:

The super-rich club has become less exclusive, with the amount of billionaires doubling since the financial crisis, according to a report from global charity Oxfam. There were 1,645 billionaires globally as of March 2014, according to Forbes data cited in the Oxfam report, up from 793 in March 2009.
The report ‘Even it Up: Time to End Extreme Inequality’ noted that the world’s richest 85 people saw their wealth jump by a further $668 million per day collectively between 2013 and 2014, which equates to half a million dollars a minute.
Unsurprisingly, this reverse Robin Hood policy of Central Banks and governments the world over has also resulted in increased poverty.

By Charles C. W. Cooke: If, in the modern era, a speaker proposes that one “cannot make an omelet without breaking eggs,” his audience can safely presume that he is joking. At one point, perhaps, it was deemed copacetic for leaders to off a few innocents in order for the living to get the right idea, but, in these more enlightened times, such displays are rather frowned upon. By all means make your case, our better angels enjoin. But keep the guiltless out of it.

JSIL (Israel) Recalls Envoy To Sweden Over Palestine Recognition

The apartheid Tel Aviv regime JSIL has recalled it's ambassador to Stockholm after Sweden's official recognition of the Palestinian state.
JSIL shill UK regulator BANNED Press TV: The JSIL Goyem Ministry announced on Thursday that it has recalled the regime’s ambassador to Stockholm for consultations with regard to the Scandinavian country’s decision to recognize the state of Palestine.
Meanwhile, the JSIL Goyem Minister Avigdor Lieberman spouted some spin at Sweden for what he called themiserable decision that strengthens the extremist elements and Palestinian rejectionism.''
It's a shame that the government of Sweden chose to take a declarative step that only causes harm,” added the JSIL official.
This is while Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has praised Sweden for making the “brave and historic” decision.
"All countries of the world that are still hesitant to recognize our right to an independent Palestinian state based on 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem (al-Quds) as its capital, [should] follow Sweden's lead," Nabil Abu Rudeina, a spokesman for the Palestinian national unity government, quoted Abbas as saying.

The Wrath of Draghi: First German Bank Hits Savers with ‘Negative Interest Rates’

Retail and business customers with over €500,000 on deposit as of November 1 will earn a “negative interest rate” of 0.25%. In less euphemistic terms, they have to pay 0.25% per annum to the bank for the privilege of handing the bank their hard-earned money or their business cash.
Inflation has had a similar effect in the zero-interest-rate environment that the ECB and other central banks have inflicted on savers, but this time it’s official, it’s open, it can’t be hidden. Instead of lending your moolah to the bank so that the bank can lend it out to businesses and retail customers for all sorts of economically beneficial purposes, you’re financially better off hiding it in the basement. Grudging respect is due the ECB and other central banks: through the perverse regime of ZIRP, they have succeeded in transmogrifying “cash in bank” from an income-producing asset to a costly liability.

Anonymous v Feminists - Message To #GamerGate

Anonymous Gamer: Greetings citizens of the world, we are Anonymous.
After a great deal of consideration, Anonymous has agreed to speak publicly about what we intend to do about the #GamerGate controversy. Many of Anonymous are gamers. We understand that gamers are diverse, and labels such as misogynist and terrorist make no sense to use for the entire group. The label gamer is currently under attack by fringe feminists and corporate bullies.

20-Year CBS News Veteran, Sharyl Attkisson, Details Massive Censorship and Propaganda in US Mainstream Media

Journalists should be dark, funny, mean people. It’s appropriate for their antagonistic, adversarial role.
– Matt Taibbi, in this New York Magazine article
By Michael Krieger: Reporters on the ground aren’t necessarily ideological, Attkisson says, but the major network news decisions get made by a handful of New York execs who read the same papers and think the same thoughts.
Often they dream up stories beforehand and turn the reporters into “casting agents,” told “we need to find someone who will say . . .” that a given policy is good or bad. “We’re asked to create a reality that fits their New York image of what they believe,” she writes.
– From the excellent New York Post article: Ex-CBS reporter’s book reveals how liberal media protects Obama
Earlier this week, I published a piece titled, Former CBS Reporter Accuses Government of Secretly Planting Classified Docs on Her Computer, which I thought was incredible in its own right, yet the information in that post seems almost trite compared to the flood of information Attkisson has revealed to the New York Post’s Kyle Smith.
The following excerpts from the piece will confirm all of your worst suspicions about mainstream media:
Sharyl Attkisson is an unreasonable woman. Important people have told her so.

Sweden To Recognize The Palestinian State Today - Foreign Ministry

RT: Sweden is to recognize the occupied state of Palestine officially on Thursday, according to its foreign ministry. The Scandinavian country will become the first major European state to recognize the territories occupied by Israel.
This follows an earlier hint by Prime Minister Stefan Lovfen in his Social Democrat manifesto, during his inaugural address in October, that this would happen. The idea was quickly met with criticism from the United States and Israel.
"Today's recognition is a contribution to a better future for a region that has for too long been characterized by frozen negotiations, destruction and frustration," Foreign Minister Margot Wallstrom wrote in the daily Dagens Nyheter.
"Some will state this decision comes too soon. I am afraid, rather, that it is too late." Source

Watch As 8 US Police Officers Fire 46 Shots And Kill A Homeless Man In Broad Daylight

By Michael Krieger: Out of control US police brutality (including outright murder), and the militarization of cops across America, while significant issues in their own right, take on an even more pressing degree of concern when viewed as a reflection of society as a whole. For years now, I have been trying to point out the connection between banker bailouts, corruption in Washington D.C., imperialistic foreign policy and police aggression. They are all different sides of the same coin. All of these things are merely symptoms of the core cancer, which is a sociopathic elite running the nation and not applying the rule of law to those who are in power; wherever that power happens to reside.
This article is a perfect followup to my piece from earlier in the week, To Protect and Perve – California Cops Share Nude Photos Stolen from Citizens’ Cellphones, in which I wrote:

The worst thing about the government’s reckless response to the financial crisis of 2008, even worse than the trillions in taxpayer bailouts and backstops granted to the financial criminals that created the disaster, is the primary lesson that it sent to American society as a whole. Some people like to call it “moral hazard,” but in more pedestrian terms it really just boils down to: The Bad Guys Got Away with It.
