The PUA Cheese Touch Strikes Again

By : The men’s rights movement is no stranger to the tactics feminists try to use to silence viewpoints they oppose. Those tactics have been written about for years, well before the movement was as large as it is today, and well before it ever received media attention. If you’re not familiar with them, read Exposing Feminism’s post “The catalog of anti-male shaming tactics.”
These tactics are a manifestation of a sense of entitlement to control the dialogue based on one’s own belief in one’s position. I’m right, so your argument must be rooted in objectionable characteristics. They’re designed to put the target on the defensive against unmerited charges in order to distract from existing debate. An example would be a feminist leveling the accusation that you support due process rights because you hate women, or an attack on your masculinity in response to your discussion about female perpetrators of sexual violence and their male victims. These tactics are a window to feminism’s underlying hateful attitude. Their basic premise is that agitation for any remedy to conditions which are oppressive to men is unneeded, undeserved, illegitimate, and an affront to women.
Many times, activists are able to spot these tactics and call them out when their feminist debate opponents use them, effectively rendering them useless. However, the community at large has failed miserably at this when the shaming involves an attempt to pit us against the pick-up artist community.

Being An Imam In Milan

An Egyptian student living in Milan, who walked around the city for five hours dressed as an imam, has released a video showing how he was insulted along the way.
Dressed in an imam’s robe and carrying a copy of the Koran, Hamdy Mahisen made the video below, published by La Repubblica, as part of a social experiment to see how tolerant people in Milan are of Muslims.
Along the way, he attracted odd stares and insults such as "Taliban shit!".
One onlooker said, "Shit, have you seen the Isis?" while another remarked, "Imagine if he has a gun under his tunic".

The Bristol Sound Show - Review

Our award for best sound at the show goes to Harbeth and their Super HL5 plus speakers.
By Sophia Agathangelou: We are more 40.1 types but we enjoyed the intermediate 5s. Alan Shaw kindly played our requests, below is a picture of us together. We thought there were too many skinny/small speakers at the show. The HL5 came first with a respectable 8.5/10. We will be auditioning some 40.1s soon. Alan suggests we ready the dampers. Sounds like the experience we had setting up our famous S100s, that's a good sign.

Press TV: Thousands of people have rallied in the Russian capital, Moscow, to express their resentment at what they called a fascist coupmore than a year ago in neighboring Ukraine, where former president, Viktor Yanukovych, was driven out of power.
On Saturday, around 35,000 demonstrators staged a rally under the slogan “We won’t forget, we won’t forgive!” and converged near Moscow’s Red Square to protest against the ongoing developments in Ukraine, where the government is engaged in crushing a pro-Russia movement in the east.

Greece And The Endgame Of The Neocolonial Model Of Exploitation

By Charles Hugh Smith: With the bankruptcy of Greece now undeniable, we’ve finally reached the endgame of the Neocolonial-Financialization Model.
We all know how old-fashioned colonialism worked: the imperial power takes physical control of previously independent lands and declares its ownership of the region as a newly minted colony.
What’s the benefit of controlling colonies?
In the traditional colonial model, there are two primary benefits: 1. The imperial power (the core) extracts valuable commodities and low-cost labor from its colony (the periphery) 2. The imperial power sells its own high-margin manufactured goods to the captured-market of its colony.
This buy low, sell high dynamic is the heart of colonialism, which can be understood as one example of the The Core-Periphery Model (June 11, 2013).

The book Sweetness and Power: The Place of Sugar in Modern History is an excellent history of how this model worked for Great Britain.
