Shaking The Shackles Of Collectivism: The Birth Of Modernity

By Jeff Berwick: The following post is by TDV Senior Analyst, Ed Bugos.
Individualism is the ethic that, in the west, laid the foundation for massive industrialized societies to emerge from the economic principle of the division of labor… for the abandonment of slavery… and, ultimately, which raised so many people out of poverty.
Under the ancient regime – before the doctrine of individualism and of individual rights in the natural sense came about – the individual never had rights.  One may have been part of a family or tribe, where maybe the head had rights in some sense as the citizen of a state.

US Tells Greece To Reject Putin Pipeline Marking Return To Cold War Politics

Tyler Durden's picture Over the course of Greece’s painful and protracted negotiations with European creditors, Athens has sought, at various times when a deal seems to be slipping away, to play the Russian pivot card. What began as a series of diplomatic overtures between the Tsipras government and Moscow quickly turned more serious once rumors began to swirl around Greece’s potential participation in Russia’s Turkish Stream pipeline which, as a reminder, will allow Russia to bypass Bulgaria by piping gas through Turkey, then through Greece, Serbia, and Hungary straight to the Austrian central hub.
In short order, it leaked that Moscow was set to advance Greece $5 billion against the future potential profits from the pipeline, a payment which we characterized as a get-out-of-Troika-jail free card and although conflicting reports emerged thereafter regarding just how soon money would actually be flowing from Moscow to Athens, discussions around the pipeline continued to move forward when Gazprom chief  Alexei Miller visited Greece late last month to discuss “current energy issues of interest.”

SGTC: How To Divorce Your Mother

Hush now baby, baby don’t you cry.
Mama's gonna check out all your girlfriends for you.
Mama won’t let anyone dirty get through.
Mama's gonna wait up until you get in.
Mama will always find out where you've been.
Mama's gonna keep baby healthy and clean.
Ooooh baby oooh baby oooh baby,
You'll always be baby to me.

In Gratitude Of JVP

By Gilad Atzmon: I want to thank JVP (Jewish Voice For Peace) for once again displaying their corrosive attitude.  The following is another clumsy ad hominem attack: no facts, no attempt to substantiate. It is a crude, futile exercise in policing free thought and interference with the understanding of Jewish Identity politics, Israel and Zionism.
Our Jewish ‘peace’ merchants are panicking for a good reason. They realize that I am about to blow the whistle. I have recently complied a devastating document that proves that the Jewish solidarity project has successfully derailed the pro Palestinian campaign. In the next two weeks I will present my case in 10 American cities and on radio and TV shows.   These Jewish activists preach against ‘right wing rhetoric’ but they themselves operate within racially exclusive political cells.  Maybe they should finally disclose how many ‘goyim’ hold seats within their ‘Jews only’ JVP board. Is it possible that the Zionist Knesset is more diverse than the ‘anti’ JVP?  You can decide for yourself.
Once again these Zionist employ their flawed terminology - ‘Colonialism,’ ‘ settler colonialism,’ ‘apartheid,’ etc. to conceal the fact that Israel defines itself as the Jewish State and its politics are driven by a radical yet vastly popular interpretation of Jewishness.

Fathers 4 Justice UK Election Message: The Campaign For Shared Parenting Continues

By Matt O’Connor: Without doubt, it has been a difficult night for campaigners who want to see urgent family law reform.
We face profound challenges given there will be another Conservative led administration, which not only broke it’s 2010 election promises to F4J, but will continue to oppose equal rights for dads and support a punitive and discriminatory child support system for the next five years.
The potential consequences of this cannot be overstated.
Worst still, the Conservatives have invested considerable effort in a failed campaign to smear Fathers4Justice which resulted in an apology from David Cameron to us some weeks ago. Several disputes remain ongoing, but we will continue to defend our work and campaign from those that seek to damage us.
We also face ingrained, ideological opposition from many of the other parties (let’s not forget Harriet Harman), a problem compounded by the harsh reality that many of our Parliamentary supporters lost their seats.
Further, we must reflect now on the new political landscape and what our strategy is moving forwards. Our policy of quiet diplomacy will be reviewed given the failure of all campaigners to raise mass fatherlessness as a serious election issue.

Isolated: China And Russia Demonstrate Closer Relationship With Joint Military Exercises

BEIJING — When a Chinese honor guard joins a military parade in Russia’s capital this weekend, watched by China’s President Xi Jinping, it will mark more than just a symbolic recognition of the two countries’ contributions to the Allied victory in 1945.
China’s participation also reflects an upgrade of its military ties with Russia, including joint naval exercises and a revival of arms purchases, that could complicate U.S.-led efforts to counter both nations’ expanding military activities, analysts and diplomats say.
They’ve basically come to a consensus that despite their differences over some national interests, they really face the same common enemy,” said Gilbert Rozman, an expert on China-Russia relations at Princeton University.

Collusions At The Top

Max Keiser and Stacy Herbert with a double header discuss the economics of low wages as productivity gains go to owners of capital rather than providers of labour to create that wealth. They look at declining union membership and the rise of temp work, such as “mini-jobs” in Germany and zero hour contracts in the United Kingdom, as a means of removing collective bargaining power from workers while owners of capital and corporations gain power through collective bargaining agreements known as international ‘free trade’ deals negotiated by their union rep - the US State Department.
