When Male Privilege Goes Wrong

"Molesting your child is the only way we can protect him from harm!" ...?

John Italos & Michael Psellos: Masculine Troubles In Byzantium

For passionate, intimate relationships, most women prefer smart, savvy, vigorously masculine men. The twelfth-century woman intellectual and princess Anna Komnene complained about Byzantine men before her father began his reforming reign as Emperor, under the direction of his mother, in 1081:
men for the most part lived luxuriously and amused themselves, and due to their effeminacy they busied themselves with quail-hunting and other more disgraceful pastimes, and treated letters, and in fact any training in the arts, as a secondary consideration. [1]
John Italos and Michael Psellos lived in gynocentric Byzantine society among the men that Anna Komnene disparaged. Each struggled in his own way to escape gynocentric oppression and live a humane, fulfilling life. Their representations in the deeply perceptive Byzantine satire Timarion indicate how each fared.
From a young age, John Italos was formed in the male gender role that controls men’s bodies, devalues men’s lives, and shortens men’s lifespans.

Feminists Weigh In On Weight

StudioBrule: Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada recently removed the weigh scale from its student gym citing concerns that some students with body issues might be “triggered” by the scale. Professor Fiamengo discusses the bizarre disconnect between feminist assertions and the reality of the science of obesity.

1983 CIA Document Reveals Plan To Destroy Syria, Foreshadows Current Crisis

By Tyler Durden: Prophetically foreshadowing the current crisis (and apparent action plan), leaked CIA documents from the reign of Bashar al-Assad's father in the 1980s show a Washington Deep State plan coalescing to "bring real muscle to bear against Syria," toppling its leader (in favor of one amenable to US demands) , severing ties with Russia (its primary arms dealer), and paving the way for an oil and gas pipeline of Washington's choosing.
As ActivistPost.com's Brandon Turbeville detailed (just a day before Trump unleashed his Tomahawks), as the Syrian crisis enters its sixth year, the Donald Trump administration is looking more and more like the Obama administration every day. With the Trump regime refusing to open useful dialogue with Russia regarding Syria, its obvious anti-Iran and pro-Israel positioning, and support for a very questionable “safe zone” plan for Syria, the odds of a rational U.S. policy in regards to Syria has lower and lower odds of existence as time progresses.

"Full Metal Jackass"

Max and Stacy discuss #KushnerAtWar and whether or not President Trump has that 1000 yard stare now that MSNBC hails him as the dear leader finally willing to kill? In the second half, Max continues his previous interview with Tyson Slocum, Director of Public Citizen's Energy Program, about the latest in geopolitics from Rex Tillerson’s State Department and Trump’s chaotic White House.

Feud: Bette And Joan - Review

By Watching the latest feminist television series Feud: Bette and Joan has me asking, “is this what modern feminism has become?” Whitewashing the abuse of children by alcoholic, psychologically damaged mothers in the name of the sisterhood?
Soft-spoken Christina Crawford recounts her famous mother trying to kill her at age 13. “She had gone into some other realm. She was like a wild animal,” Ms. Crawford told Larry King in 2001. Her adoptive mother had flown into a rage after accusing her daughter of making a “pass,” at a boyfriend. The story of her abuse was retold in the 1978 book, Mommie Dearest, a harrowing memoir of horrific abuse by a woman whom Christina considers a “sociopath”. Middle of the night rampages, regular beatings and strange psychological punishments were regular occurrences.
Yet, Feud and its strange feminist undertones seem to gloss this over.

Is Armageddon Over The Horizon?

By Paul Craig Roberts: The insouciance of the Western world is extraordinary. It is not only Americans who permit themselves to be brainwashed by CNN, MSNBC, NPR, the New York Times and Washington Post, but also their counterparts in Europe, Canada, Australia, and Japan, who rely on the war propaganda machine that poses as a media. http://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-39573526
The Western “leaders,” that is, the puppets on the end of the strings pulled by the powerful private interest groups and the Deep State, are just as insouciant. Trump and his counterparts in the American Empire must be unaware that they are provoking war with Russia and China, or else they are psychopaths.

Do Men Make Better CEOs Than Women?

By : In my last article, Women hate being CEOs – and they suck at it, the 20 top women CEOs from the class of 2012 scored a flat zero after 5 years – half had been terminated and the survivors all tanked their company’s financial rankings. Should I have reviewed the results of gentlemen CEOs for the sake of comparison?
My answer then was this:

Should I have reviewed the success of the other, male-run companies? Maybe, when the day comes when a woman CEO actually improves her company’s ranking, I will think about it.
This remains my stance – the failure of women CEOs is so pervasive – and remember, I reviewed ALL of them in the Fortune 500 – that reviewing gentlemen CEOs should be moot. Still, a couple of folks leaving comments seemed interested in how the lads did. So, as I am your most loyal and humble servant, I will overcome my incredulity at this question and take a measuring peek under the kilts.

MGM: Claimed Medical Benefits - Part 2

By William Collins aka MRA-UK: See Part 1 for the Introduction. Here I continue my critique of the claims by Morris et al (2017) that male circumcision is medically beneficial.
Part 2 addresses all the claimed medical benefits other than urinary tract infections (which were addressed in Part 1). The conditions which are claimed to be ameliorated by male circumcision are summarised in Table 1 of the paper by Morris et al, 2017. They are addressed in turn, as indicated by the Contents list below.
…and the benefits? Err, none
The discussion necessarily dives to some scientific depths, and hence may be too detailed to appeal to the general reader. But this critique provides an illustration of how journal papers which superficially appear legitimate can actually be promotional material.
People who enjoy a more polemical exposition can look forward to the concluding Part 3 shortly. My earlier, and more accessible, observations on MGM generally can be found here.
Throughout I use the terms “circumcision”, MGM (male genital mutilation), and MC (male circumcision) interchangeably.
