Reactions To @AbyssCreations RealDoll Sex Aid

Like everything else,
it's only a problem when men do it.

Bronze Girl Needs To Go

By : The sculptor of the famous “Charging Bull” statue near Wall Street has called upon the city to remove the new bronze girl from the scene.  The girl, by artist Kristen Visbal, was added on March 7, as a promotion coinciding with International Women’s Day, and was planned to remain only one week, before mayor Bill de Blasio extended her stay for at least a year.
Arturo Di Modica’s Charging Bull is among the most popular pieces of public art in the United States.  Perfectly located on a cobble-stone corner a block from the New York Stock Exchange, it perfectly symbolizes the free market: powerful, wild, and less than tamable.  A perfect match of object, place, and meaning.
Di Modica was inspired by the 1987 stock-market crash to create a symbol of the “strength and power of the American People.”  Working outside the public eye, he spent approximately $350,000 to craft the massive, 7,100 pound, 18 foot long bull.  Secretly, Di Modica staked out a location in downtown Manhattan, even timing out the frequency of police patrols, so he knew how quickly he had to work.  Then, in the early morning hours of December 15, 1989, without any notice to the city, he and a crew trucked the bull into the Manhattan and installed it as a piece of guerilla art.

Who Pulls Ali Abunimah’s Strings?

By Gilad Atzmon: In 2012, Ali Abunimah and twenty-one other Palestinians called for my disavowal. The call was nothing special: the usual set of clumsy accusations that had nothing to do with my work.
At the time, Abunimah and his colleagues were subject to much criticism and denunciation by intellectuals, scholars, activists and various political bodies. Needless to say, the equivalent Jewish solidarity organisations were, on the contrary, only thrilled by the call.
This week, and five years after the original call for my disavowal, we learn from Jewish ‘anti’- Zionist, Tony Greenstein, that it was he who “engineered” the whole thing.
The question that comes to my mind is, how is it possible that twenty-two Palestinian activists, three of them notable public figures, find themselves “engineered” by the likes of Tony Greenstein, a Jewish ethnic activist regarded by many supporters of Palestine as little more than an Israeli asset?

Truck Of Peace: Antifabulous

SyeTen: Faced with increasingly restrictive "freedom to commit terrorism" regulations, our plucky sexy justice warriors must concoct innovative ways to express themselves. Help is at hand in the form of a Berkley "model" and an Australian "mechanical engineer".

Bill Nye - My Sex Junk Is So Oh No No

This is a trainwreck.
By Jordan Holbrook: Needless to say, I find Rachel Bloom’s direction with this piece to be less than adequate. Here, please, for your leisure, enjoy another slice of evidence showing why I rarely show face on camera.
If I self-identify as intellectually stunted, does that excuse me when I swipe at low hanging fruit?

Successful actions by the usual culprits in stopping TRP being shown at various venues in Australia are being effectively countered by the very publicity which such actions attract – together with the good offices of the likes of Bettina Arndt (see, for example, Mark Latham’s Outsiders).

Mohammad Sabaaneh’s Dangerous Cartoons

By Marguerite Dabaie: Palestinian culture is in itself a dangerous act, a reason to be caged. So suggests a cartoon in a new anthology of work by Mohammad Sabaaneh. The panel [below] shows a group of men and women in traditional dress dancing the folkloric dabke while shackled together. A checkpoint cuts through the line dance, and Israel’s wall stops them short.
Here, the message seems to be, even celebrations are fraught with obstacles brought on by the Israeli occupation.
White and Black: Political Cartoons from Palestine, published by Just World Books, offers a rare opportunity for English-language readers to become familiar with Sabaaneh’s stark black and white images, printed in newspapers across the Arab world.

The Sam Bee Challenge

DoctorRandomercam: I'm not recommending anyone else do this. I'd just as rather this ends here. This is like trying to find a needle in an undisclosed amount of vomit.

UK Conservatives Forcing Female Candidates Onto CPs

By Mike Buchanan: There have been persistent rumours that Theresa May is keen to increase the number of female Tory MPs, an assault on meritocracy which would have been unthinkable during Margaret Thatcher’s term as prime minister.
The proportion of Tory MPs who are women already considerably exceeds the proportion of prospective parliamentary candidates (PPCs) who are women. Ms May’s demand for more Tory female MPs is being implemented by Conservative Campaign Headquarters (CCHQ), where I worked as a consultant over 2006-8.
A year or two ago Caroline Spelman MP, Conservative party chairman in 2007, admitted during a BBC Radio 4 interview that during her term as chairman, men had outnumbered women as PPC applicants by a ratio of 10:1 – then cynically proceeded to tell her interviewer that the party ‘needed’ more female MPs.
I resigned my party membership in 2009 when David Cameron announced his intention to introduce all-women PPC shortlists for the approaching general election, and set to work on my first feminism-related book, David and Goliatha.
