Documenting Recent History Of The MRM

By : As some of you may be aware I published a volume last year providing a brief overview of the history of the MRM, titled A Brief History of The Men’s Rights Movement: From 1856 to the present. There I documented many examples of men’s rights initiatives from the 1800s up to the time of Warren Farrell’s seminal work The Myth of Male Power.
The primary aim of the book was to show the longer history of the movement, and only secondly to provide some limited examples of the contemporary movement. After Farrell’s Myth, Men’s Rights initiatives flourished so much I considered it impractical to document the literally thousands of initiatives that followed, not to mention the likelihood of omitting some examples which would likely have caused offense.
However due to popular request I’ve decided to revisit this decision and update the volume with a list of contemporary MR initiatives that have appeared post Myth of Male Power (1993), and to that end I welcome any suggestions by readers for inclusion.
Initiatives that qualify
– Initiatives, including websites or video channels, that have championed one or more MR issues.
– Quality initiatives that have lasted for at least 2 years.

– Had a considerable reach and/or following (preferably in the tens of thousands +).
– Be a self-named ‘Men’s Rights’ initiative, or one ostensibly championing same (eg. intactivism).
– Must be efforts representing men and boys as a collective.
Disqualified initiatives
– Initiatives by people or groups who openly reject the MR label.
– People/orgs who previously identified as MR and subsequently renounced it.
– Initiatives by known misandrists (eg. feminists).
– An individual working on his own legal case.
– Non-MRA antifeminists (being antifeminist does not guarantee support for MR).
– Primarily antifeminist whose MR advocacy is secondary, incidental or peripheral.

Some of those criteria are designed to weed out non-MR individuals and initiatives, while others will helpfully limit the listed examples to perhaps under 100, as compared to the tens of thousands that otherwise would qualify if small initiatives were included.
The proposed additions will include prominent MR Advocates and their organizations/websites, and will be limited to approximately one line per qualifying initiative. Here are a few examples that qualify for inclusion:
