What They Aren't Telling You About Iran, Israel, U.S. And Nukes

If Americans Knew
"This isn't about life annihilating nuclear weapons themselves, The United States and Israel don't want a nuclear free world, they just want to be the only ones with nuclear weapons, the only ones with that power."

The Jewish Israeli Government Role In Promoting Islamophobia Internationally

By Paul Larudee: Much of the study of Islamophobia is directed at the social and political causes and manifestations, including religious and political dimensions and racist characteristics.  However, Islamophobia is also used as a strategic tool or weapon; i.e., in pursuit of national agenda.
Many of us are familiar with Islamophobic movements within the Buddhist majority in Myanmar (against the Rohingya minority), and within Hindu nationalist parties in India. It is important to note, however, that it is characteristic of these movements that they direct their Islamophobia against particular groups of Muslims within their own societies, and are less concerned with creating an international movement against Islam.
This is what makes the case of Israel unique.  Although Israel, like Myanmar and India, seeks to marginalize and ultimately eliminate a specific population of Muslims – in this case the mostly Muslim Palestinians – part of its strategy for doing so includes encouraging and fostering Islamophobia internationally.  Thus, for example, Israel has successfully pursued strong military and diplomatic ties with the governments of Myanmar and India, and especially the Islamophobic movements within those countries.

Another Palestinian Murdered By The Jews And 167 More Wounded In Final “March Of Return” Gaza Protest

In the 7th and last weekly protest at the Gaza-Israel border, one Palestinian was killed, and 167 were injured, bringing the death toll to at least 48. Tuesday, Nakba Day, will be the culminating protest – preparations are underway, and so are attempts to stop it.
From Al Jazeera: Palestinians in the besieged Gaza Strip are protesting for the seventh Friday in a row as part of the Great March of Return movement.
The rallies are part of a six-week protest that will culminate on May 15 to mark what Palestinians refer to as “the Nakba” or “catastrophe” – a reference to Israel’s establishment in 1948, when 750,000 Palestinians were forcibly removed from Palestine.
Since the protests began on March 30, at least 48 Palestinians in the coastal enclave have been killed by Israeli forces and more than 8,500 wounded.
Marchers are demanding the right to return to their homes seized by Israel in 1948.
Here are all the latest updates as of Friday, May 11:
Palestinian killed, more than a hundred wounded
Israeli forces have shot dead a 40-year-old man, Jaber Salem Abu Mustafa, east of Khan Younis, according to the health ministry.

Social Media Surveillance Capitalism

Max and Stacy discuss the ‘turds’ ‘harvesting baby brains’ in the cryptocurrency markets, according to Charlie Munger, the 94-year-old billionaire, partner of Warren Buffett. Max and Stacy note that bitcoin was a direct response to the financial system created by the likes of Buffett and Munger so it makes sense that they would react more and more wildly against cryptocurrencies that mock their legacy. In the second half, Max continues his interview with Michael Krieger about social media surveillance capitalism and The Road to 2025.

UK Silence On Israel’s Detention Of Palestinian Children

Some UK politicians are getting fed up with Israel’s disregard for international law on the rights of children. 6 years after a damning report on “Israel’s widespread and systematic ill-treatment of Palestinian child detainees,” next to nothing had improved, and Israel refused an additional follow-up visit.
But even as some are calling for tough measures, the UK voted against a resolution on Israeli accountability at the UN Human Rights Council last March.
By Ben White: In 2012, a report by a UK government-sponsored delegation of lawyers to Israel and the occupied Palestinian territories found Israel’s treatment of Palestinian children in military detention to be in breach of the Fourth Geneva Convention and the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.
Six years on, however, and Israel has made only modest changes; according to government minister Alistair Burt, speaking in the Houses of Parliament earlier this year, Israel has implemented just one of 43 specific recommendations made by the lawyers.
At the time, Brad Parker, International Advocacy Officer at Defense for Children International-Palestine, told Al Jazeera the report was “a particularly useful tool that provided a cogent case study of the separate and unequal legal framework Israeli authorities operate in the occupied West Bank”.

How Jewish Israel Promotes Cyberbullying Of US Students

By Nora Barrows-Friedman: The Israeli government is encouraging its supporters to engage in a cyberbullying campaign against US students after they voted to divest from companies that profit from Israel’s crimes.
Administrators of the Act.IL app began directing its users to “like” and share a Facebook page that was set up solely to threaten and bully student senators of George Washington University in Washington, DC, who had recently voted in support of the resolution.
The Facebook page smeared the divestment campaign as “anti-Semitic.”
The Act.IL app is the product of a partnership between Israeli think tanks, lobby groups and Israel’s Ministry of Strategic Affairs, which poured nearly $600,000 into the project, according to revealed documents.
This lobby effort was funded largely by casino billionaire Sheldon Adelson, a major donor to anti-Palestinian causes and to Donald Trump’s presidential campaign.
The ministry is in charge of running a covert campaign of sabotage against BDS, the boycott, divestment and sanctions movement in support of Palestinian human rights.
The student senators’ ballots were cast in secret, due to concerns that they could face retaliation if their votes were made public. The vote passed 18-6 with six abstentions on 24 April.

Gaza, Ghandi And King

By Eve Mykytyn: The Great March of Return is a nonviolent protest that Palestinians in Gaza started on March 30 in order to serve notice to Israel that the Palestinians have never given up on their right, as refugees, to return to the homes and villages taken from them in the Nakba and thereafter. Since the onset of the March, residents of Gaza have gathered on the Gaza side of the border. The Gazans have been met with lethal violence from Israel. In addition to live fire, Israeli forces have used rubber-coated metal bullets and tear gas grenades against protesters, medical crews and journalists. As of May 7, Israel has killed forty seven Palestinians and wounded 7000. No Israelis have been wounded.
Israel has shown its usual genius for controlling the narrative, and has justified its brutal response as ‘defending the border’ although in fact, no Palestinians have successfully crossed the border.
Until bad publicity ended the practice or at least the filming of it, young Israelis displayed the hubris of the oppressor, crowding on bleachers to watch Gazans get shot. Although no Israeli has been wounded, the American media continues to describe the event as if both sides were fighting with equal brutality.
