Faux Capitalism Is Not Working

Max and Stacy discuss the surge in share buybacks as corporations turn their Trump tax break into more income for shareholders now, meaning less investment in the future of the actual company. In the second half, Max continues his interview with Mish Shedlock of MishTalk.com about the credit cycle turning. They discuss the recent Bloomberg opinion piece arguing that ‘capitalism is not working.’ They also talk about 50 million empty homes in China and what that portends for the global economy.

The Jewish Apartheid State: Nowhere To Go, Nowhere To Live

By Annelies Verbeek: With attention focused on the planned demolition of Khan al-Ahmar village, other areas of the Jordan Valley have fallen off the radar.
Out of sight, however, Israeli consolidation over the Jordan Valley is continuing apace. Last month, the Israeli army demolished several Palestinian structures in the communities of al-Hadidiya and the al-Musafa area east of Jiftlik village.
In al-Hadidiya, in the northern Jordan Valley, the bulldozers arrived on the morning of 11 October leaving Omar Arif Bisharat and eight relatives, including five children, homeless. Doles of doves soared over the rubble of his home. He raised his hands, struggling to convey the calamity of what had happened to him. In addition to his home, the army demolished six other structures, including several animal pens.
The doves, Bisharat explained, had been raised by his family. Their pen – with baby doves inside it – had been demolished along with the other structures and the birds were now circling their old home. The family’s sheep, too, were homeless.

Trump Quietly Orders Elimination Of Public Hero Assange

Because of the system under which we live,
a 100% commitment to truth is now
a clear pathway to oblivion.

By Eric Zuesse: On June 28th, the Washington Examiner headlined “Pence pressed Ecuadorian president on country’s protection of Julian Assange” and reported that “Vice President Mike Pence discussed the asylum status of Julian Assange during a meeting with Ecuador’s leader on Thursday, following pressure from Senate Democrats who have voiced concerns over the country’s protection of the WikiLeaks founder.” Pence had been given this assignment by U.S. President Donald Trump. The following day, the Examiner bannered “Mike Pence raises Julian Assange case with Ecuadorean president, White House confirms” and reported that the White House had told the newspaper, “They agreed to remain in close coordination on potential next steps going forward.”

20 Studies Show How Women Do Not Support Other Women

By : I collected these studies in one place because women talk a lot about supporting other women but when it comes down to it, women often undermine each other in insidious ways.
That women in general cannot seem to get along with other women in the long-term has been one of the great disappointments of my life, and I do wonder if it’s possible to better support each other, have more productive relationships with men, and better serve our communities if we have a better understanding around our own behavior and motivations.
Without further ado:
1. Women damage rivals’ reputations but do not report explicitly disliking them: Competitive reputation manipulation: Women strategically transmit social information about romantic rivals.
2. Women report experiencing more incivility from other women in the workplace than from men: Further understanding incivility in the workplace: The effects of gender, agency, and communion.
3. Regardless of their own promiscuity, all female participants viewed sexually permissive women more negatively: Birds of a feather? Not when it comes to sexual permissiveness.
