Microplastics Found In The Lung Tissue Of Living Humans For The First Time: Study

Researchers have discovered microplastics deep in the lungs of living humans for the first time.

Authored by Katabella Roberts: Scientists at Hull York Medical School in England published their findings in the journal Science of the Total Environment, the first such study to show microplastics in the lung tissue of live people.

Microplastics are extremely small plastic particles composed of mixtures of polymers and functional additives that measure less than five millimeters in size and are generally unintentionally released into the environment because of the disposal and breakdown of larger consumer products or industrial waste.

Researchers in the study collected lung tissue from living patients undergoing surgical procedures at Castle Hill Hospital and Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust before filtering it to see what was present.

They observed 39 microplastics in 11 of the 13 lung tissue samples tested, a figure that is significantly higher than any previous laboratory tests.

Researchers identified 12 types of microplastics in total, which are commonly found in bottles, packaging, clothing, and rope, along with other manufacturing processes.

Does he understand the role the Central Bank chief played in facilitating Washington’s theft of Russia’s foreign reserves? Does he understand the role the Central Bank chief played in allowing Russia’s currency to be ripped to shreds by vicious hedge fund speculators acting on Washington’s behalf? Does he understand that doubling interest rates overnight to 20% will wipe out business investment, increase unemployment and push the economy headlong into a protracted slump? Does he like the idea that Russia’s national bank is now lending money at the same inflated rate as a Mafia loan shark? Would Putin borrow money at 20%? Would anyone?

And if no one borrows money, then there’s no credit expansion. And if there is no credit expansion, there’s no economic growth. And if there’s no growth, the economy goes into a downward-death spiral that curtails personal consumption, weakens business investment, boosts the jobless rate, shrinks the social safety-net, lowers living standards, intensifies social discontent, and threatens the political stability of the country. These are the knock-on effects of bad monetary policy. And, these are the outcomes that Russia can expect if Putin sticks with the current Central Bank chief.

Oh, I don't mean the war in Ukraine, the one that all the media are asking you to focus your attention on. Yes, that conflict continues to escalate. and every day there are new stories about provocations and threats that could lead to a nuclear exchange . . . but that's not the war I'm referring to.

And I don't mean the war in Yemen or the other military conflicts that the media are ignoring entirely. Yes, these wars are every bit as bloody, gruesome and devastating as the Russian invasion of Ukraine (if not more so), and they also risk an escalation into a broader geopolitical and geoeconomic crisis . . . but they're not the wars I'm referring to, either.

No, the war I'm talking about is an even broader war. A war that is taking place everywhere on the globe, even as I write, and that involves virtually everyone on the planet, young and old, male and female, military and civilian. It is the war of every government against its own population and every international institution against free humanity.
