UK's debts 'biggest in the world' Public Display Classic Stockholm Syndrome
McKinsey is updating its 2010 report and has shared its interim findings These findings are not comforting.
According to the consulting firm, by the end of March this year, the aggregate indebtedness of the UK - that's the sum of household debts, company debts, government debts and bank debts - had risen to 492% of GDP, or almost five times the value of everything we produce in a single year.
That compares with 481% at the end of 2008.
So the UK's total indebtedness has increased, and is still the biggest relative to GDP of any of the big economies. That said, Japanese indebtedness is pretty much the same size - at the end of 2010, as opposed to the end of March 2011, Mckinsey says Japan's debts were also 492% of GDP.
US indebtedness is less, at 282% of GDP by the middle of this year, down from 296% in December 2008.
In the case of America, government debt is on a steeply rising trend, jumping from 61% of GDP to 80% over the past two and a half years.
But household debts have fallen from 98% of GDP to 87% of GDP, as homeowners have handed back the keys of their houses to lenders and reneged on the debts (which is possible in much of the US, but almost impossible in the UK).
So what's going on? Why are UK debts still going up? Full story/source

‘CIA, MI6 and Mossad: Together against Syria ’Webster Tarpley
Moscow has accused the west of stirring up tensions in the Arab world by calling for the overthrow of the Syrian regime. Russia says calls from certain states for the Syrian opposition to avoid dialogue with the government, are only provoking further violence. Author and journalist Webster Tarpley, who's in Damascus, says, it's very simple, western powers are behind the violence in Syria.
'Gaddafi son knows too much, will be silenced'
Muammar Gaddafi's fugitive spy chief, one of the last key figures from Libya's old regime still on the run, has been captured in the country's south. It comes just days after Gaddafi's son Saif al-Islam was also caught. The National Transitional Council has since said it won't hand him over to the Hague Tirbunal. Instead it's vowed to try him at home for crimes against the Libyan people, that could result in the death penalty. Muammar Gaddafi's most influential son was also seized in the south of the country on Saturday along with his aides as they tried to escape to neighbouring Niger. Following the toppling of his father at the end of an 8-month civil war, many questions about the regime remain. Saif is believed to be one of the few who could answer them. Political analyst and author Adrian Salbuchi says Saif al-Islam will be silenced by either the Hague or the National Transitional Council. Source
CIA Spy Ring Busted In Iran And Lebanon
United States officials are saying that shortcuts, unaccountability, laziness and general mismanagement are to blame for the compromising of several CIA informants in Iran and Lebanon who are now feared dead.
A CIA-led program in the Middle East is up in the air after officials confirmed to news organizations today that paid informants in Iran and Lebanon working for the US government have disappeared while attempting to infiltrate Hezbollah, the Iranian-backed military organization considered a terrorist group by the US.
Iranian intelligence minister Heidar Mosleh announced in May that more than 30 US and Israeli spies had been discovered and he quickly took to Iranian television to broadcast information explaining the methods of online communication that the agents would use to trade intel. Only a month later, Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah announced that two high-ranking officers within his own organization had been identified as CIA spies. Just now, however, does the US government confirm that not only is this information true, but they believe that the rest of their Hezbollah-targeted operations in the Middle East have been compromised.
According to some within the agency, all of this could have been prevented.
Speaking to ABC News, one former US senior intelligence official speaking without accreditation says that CIA agents were warned to avoid using the same Lebanon hub for secret meet-ups — a Beirut Pizza Hut restaurant — though spies continue to use the location for countless meet-ups with a wide range of informants.
"We were lazy and the CIA is now flying blind against Hezbollah," the former official tells ABC.
According to several US officials speaking to the press, the CIA used the codeword “PIZZA” to arrange for would-be clandestine meetings at the restaurant. To ABC, however, a current CIA officer denied the allegations that the entire operations evaporated at the eatery
Others within the agency, but currently and formerly, say that outside of the Pizza Hut sting, the revealing of the online communication conducted between the CIA and informants in Iran led to “dozens” of assets being compromised. Officials have confirmed that the websites that Intel Ministero Mosleh showed an Iranian television audience were indeed used by the CIA in their secret web chats.
"We've lost the tradition of espionage," one former intelligence official tells ABC. "Officers take short cuts and no one is held accountable.”
Another anonymous official tells the Associated Press that the CIA was warned by Hezbollah’s Nasrallah that they were cracking down on American spies, but the US pressed on despite the consequences.
Prior to the September 11 terrorist attacks, the Hezbollah organization was believed to be responsible for the most terrorism-related deaths of Americans ever. Last year the State Department described the militants as "the most technically capable terrorist group in the world” and a government probe linked the group to hundreds of millions of dollars in funding out of Iran. A 2009 crackdown by Hezbollah aimed at Israeli spies led to the arrest of roughly 100, and a CIA investigation that followed revealed that the United States’ own agents would be just as susceptible to similar strikes.
While the fate of the CIA agents remains uncertain — and the final toll kept under wraps — what is known is that for the American intelligence community, not much good can come from this.
"Hezbollah has disappeared people before. Others they have kept around,” counterterrorism expert Matthew Levitt tells the AP.
"If they were genuine spies, spying against Hezbollah, I don't think we'll ever see them again," former CIA officer Robert Baer tells ABC. "These guys are very, very vicious and unforgiving." Source

Do Zionists Control Wall Street? The Shocking Facts!
Teacher Patricia McAllister was crucified for daring to simply say outloud that Zionists controlled Wall Street while helping in an Occupy Wall Street demo in Los Angeles. She was fired for simply telling the truth. LA talkshow host Bill Handel said on his show just a few days earlier, quote, "My Tribe Controls Wall Street why should I be upset about that?" Of course, he wasn't fired because he is part of the tribe that runs the media. So, what are the facts? This video lays out the facts of the Zionist control of Wall Street and International finance like nothing else!

Cairo carnage:
Shock footage shows cop atrocities
Some of the rubber bullets have gone astray, hitting residential buildings nearby and starting fires. Paula has encountered at least a dozen ambulances and a fire brigade quickly responding.
The crowd surrounded the RT crew and started yelling and screaming, asking who they were. As Paula was walking to her LIVE broadcast position she crossed through the center of Tahrir Square. Quite a few people came up to her and quickly hurried her to the side, advising her that, with a clearly foreign face, it is very dangerous to be in the square for the moment.
People who left in the early hours of Monday morning to go home to have some sleep and food are returning.
The sense Paula gets from the mood of the crowd is that there is going to be more violence, but much depends on how the police and security forces respond.
Paula spoke to some of the protesters, who say that they are ready for whatever happens.
There are very few women there, most of the people are young men, extremely angry and incredibly frustrated. Many are walking around wearing bandages, showing the effect of Sunday’s violence which left 20 people dead and more than a thousand people injured, according to the country's Health Ministry.
Monday's clashes are also taking place near the Interior Ministry, which is close to Tahrir Square.
A shocking video has been released in the internet showing the violent crackdown of police and security during the protests over the weekend.

Egyptian political activist Ahmed Salah does not expect a swift reaction by the West on the latest events in Cairo’s Tahrir Square, as he says these countries have supplied the army regime with the means of oppression.
Now, he says, this very ammunition is used to empower the government by killing civilians and suppressing the revolution.
“I don’t know what can be the excuse for giving the armed forces and the security this type of ammunition. That’s why we have thousands of injured,” he said. “They don’t care about the injured. They’ve just stormed a hospital a while ago with tear gas and everything in an attempt to retake the square. The whole world had probably seen on television how they were setting property on fire – vehicles, motorbikes and shops, like they did last night – in order to [blame] us and the revolution that we are the ones doing the sabotage.”
Ahmed Salah particularly pointed out that the present dramatic events taking place on Tahrir Square should be regarded as the very same revolution that had toppled the country’s former president Hosni Mubarak.
“We were cheated into believing that the revolution was over, we succeeded, we managed to overthrow the Mubarak regime. This was all wrong,” he said. “The Mubarak regime is still in power. It is fighting back. The same corrupt regime is out there, only cheating us, the population and the world, into believing that they are going to start this transition towards democracy, while everything they are doing was to conspire [about staying] in power.”
The clashes in Cairo’s iconic Tahrir Square have been ongoing since Friday. The violence began when riot police attacked around 200 peaceful demonstrators, who had camped out in the square overnight in order to commemorate protesters killed in the February uprising. The violence comes nine days before Egypt's first elections since the ousting of President Mubarak. Source

US in Iraq: Men of steal
As the date for the US troop withdrawal from Iraq nears, questions have been raised over those who do not leave the war zone empty-handed, as billions of dollars have reportedly been wasted or stolen during the military intervention.
Another soldier shipped home thousands of dollars concealed in a toy stuffed animal.
Michael O’Brien, the author of America’s Failure in Iraq says “They go after people who stole $43,000. That’s great; they should go after that, but what about on a larger scale?”
In 2006, Michael O’Brien was tasked with helping build the Iraqi military. He says those who have pocketed millions enjoy complete impunity.
“They rebuilt an Iraqi army base and I’m telling you the condition of that base – this is just one example – was so deplorable, it was so pathetic, and when I asked the American construction project manager how much money was into this, I really thought he was going to say 3 or 5 million – it was $160 million,” Michael O’Brien recalls.
Vladimir Kremlev for RT (click to enlarge)
The Commission on Wartime Contracting estimated that between $31 billion and $60 billion has been lost to waste and fraud in Iraq and Afghanistan. The figures seem even more staggering, considering the overall amount the US has committed to rebuilding Iraq: roughly $62 billion.
Peter Van Buren was a head of an Iraq Reconstruction team, working for the US State Department. US State Department Foreign Service Officer told RT that “The squandering of resources occurred on very small levels: a couple of thousand dollars here and there and zoomed all the way up into hundreds of millions of dollars that were spent on hospitals that never opened or prisons that never took any prisoners in.”
The Commission on Wartime Contracting is out of business now, after Congress cut its funding. The details of their probe is sealed until 2031. “They don’t want people in high places to come under scrutiny,” Michael O’Brien believes. “The US Congress wants to put the fraud behind the debacle of our Iraqi invasion.”
The scope of the fraud and waste is enormous. The US justice system goes after individuals who have stolen a few thousand dollars here and there, but not after the big players, the big contractors, that have really made a killing on the wars. Source
Spain - The Fifth Victim To Fall In Europe’s Arc Of Depression
Let us all extend our sympathies to the Spanish people. They face the greatest national emergency since the Civil War yet their vote for drastic change is palpably useless, even if democracy has in this case at least been respected.
As union leader Javier Dos put it, the EU-imposed austerity plans of the incoming Partido Popular are “nothing more than the continuation of policies leading Europe toward disaster”.
The immediate destiny of his country lies entirely in the hands of Germany, the AAA creditor core, the EU authorities, and the European Central Bank, the nexus of policy-making power that together dictates whether Spain will be thrown a lifeline or be pushed further into depression and social catastrophe.
