Lee Buchheit, a partner at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP who represented Greece in its debt restructuring, predicts the Eurozone countries will have to double to 1 trillion Euros the money they've set aside to solve the sovereign debt crisis continent-wide. Rather than Spain or Italy, tiny Cyprus is likely to be the next European nation to seek a bailout, he tells Bloomberg Law's Lee Pacchia. Capital controls or something like them will likely be necessary to stem the outflows of money from the bailout-seeking countries, he says. Source

Runaway Greek Cash - Keiser Report with Satyajit Das
"Only €14bn of €410bn total 'aid' to Greece went into economy - rest to creditors. No wonder they are cross." - Max Keiser and co-host, Stacy Herbert, discuss economic Jack and the
Beanstalk style miracles that look a whole lot like simple ponzi schemes
that Lilliputian financial journalists fail to report. In the second
half of the show Max talks to Satyajit Das, author of Extreme Money,
about the European debt crisis, how much longer Germany can stay solvent
and whether German banks would have survived if the Irish taxpayer had
not bailed them out in the first place. Source
Julian Assange will be arrested regardless of Ecuador asylum decision
Police will arrest Julian Assange even if he is granted asylum with one legal expert claiming his only way out of the country is becoming Ecuador's representative to the UN.
By
Martin Beckford: The WikiLeaks founder has spent the past two nights holed up in the South
American country’s London embassy, in an attempt to avoid extradition to
Sweden for questioning over alleged sex crimes.
He will discover later today if Ecuador plans to grant him asylum.
But it is widely accepted he will still face arrest the minute he walks out of
the Knightsbridge building, where police are waiting, as he has breached his
bail conditions.
He is meant to remain at a bail address in Tunbridge Wells between 10pm and
8am every night while his extradition appeals continue.
Mr Assange, a 40 year-old Australian, cannot be given diplomatic immunity by
Ecuador as conferred on other embassy staff, because the Foreign Office
would not approve the application.
America is Greece… On Steroids - Bob Bauman
Bob Bauman: Take a moment to consider this number: -$16,084,425,792,391
At the last count, this is the level of the U.S. national debt. And if that number scares you… it should.
The fiscal and debt situation of the United States today is nothing
less than Greece on steroids – with an added dose of political
hallucinogens inducing insane denial.
It’s the same insanity that sent international markets up this week
on the news that a paltry 30% of Greek voters supported a political
party that advocates the country paying its bills and living within its
means.
But let’s put this news in its horrific perspective:
In spite of the fact the Greek election results have allayed fears of
the country’s imminent exit from the euro zone, swathes of political
analysts still believe the move is a mere momentary respite, and that
the European Union dream could yet turn to nightmare.
With Spain, Italy and probably France, on the brink of disaster,
Greece must now be kept on life support because of the very real threat
of economic contagion and perhaps even the demise of the euro and the
European Union itself.
Yet, in 2009, Greece’s economy was just 0.40% of world total GDP, and
in 2015 the Greek GDP is forecast to be 0.41% of the world total. If
that is the potential impact of an economic crash in a country whose
economic output is less than 1% of the rest of the world, what do you
suppose will follow the economic disintegration of the U.S. government,
whose economy dwarfs Greece?

G4S chief predicts mass police privatisation across the UK
Private companies will be running large parts of the police service within five years, according to security firm head (of G4S accused of human rights abuse in Israel)
Private companies will be running large parts of the UK's police service within five years, according to the world's biggest security firm.
David Taylor-Smith, the head of G4S for the UK and Africa, said he expected police forces across the country to sign up to similar deals to those on the table in the West Midlands and Surrey, which could result in private companies taking responsibility for duties ranging from investigating crimes to transporting suspects and managing intelligence.
The prediction comes as it emerged that 10 more police forces were considering outsourcing deals that would see services, such as running police cells and operating IT, run by private firms.
Taylor-Smith, whose company is in the running for the £1.5bn contract with West Midlands and Surrey police, said he expected forces across the country to have taken similar steps within five years . "For most members of the public what they will see is the same or better policing and they really don't care who is running the fleet, the payroll or the firearms licensing – they don't really care," he said.

Jim Rickards on the latest Federal Reserve Rate Decision and Operation Twist 2.0
Let's twist again...like we did last September. The Federal Reserve
announced today that it will be extending operation twist -- it's effort
to twit the yield curve and keep long-term interest rates low by
selling short-dated securities and buying long-term treasuries. It's
just more free market arm-twisting, and the Fed says it's willing to do
more. Sounds like more threats!

Google having received over 1,000 requests from
government authorities to remove YouTube videos and content from its
search results to know that censorship is a growing trend. And it’s not
confined to Big Brother.
If you tuned into last week's Trends in the News video you heard me tell of my personal experience of how pervasive the censorship trend is. On June 9th, just minutes before I took the podium to deliver a keynote address at a Rotarian District Conference banquet, I was informed that the 200 copies of the Spring Trends Journal that I had brought to distribute to attendees had been hastily removed the chairs on which they had been placed. The Journals were moved to a table outside the banquet room for a brief time before they were again removed and put back in their boxes.
Why? Rotary District President Tansukh Dorawala, told me, “Someone found the cover offensive and we had to remove them.”
The cover art, created by award winning artist Anthony Freda, encapsulates, graphically and poignantly, an extremely important message regarding the direction in which America is trending and how dire the consequences will be. As you well know, the illustration portrays a rainbow coalition of obese Americans boarding box cars plainly labeled “Made in U.S.A.” The headline above declares: “Next Train to Auschwitz: All Aboard! Kiss those calories goodbye.”
