67 years since Hiroshima + Was London Olympics a Success? + Sick UK Youth - George Galloway

Rohingya people, the Muslims in Myanmar, have been the subject of a pogrom by the Myanmarese authorities and their non-Muslim neighbors. Myanmar President Thein Sein suggested in July that the country could solve the problem by expelling all of its Rohingyas or by having the United Nations resettle them, a proposal which the UN quickly rejected. More than 200,000 Rohingyas have fled across the Naf River to Bangladesh but the Bangladeshi authorities are turning them back to face their torturers. During the week, an anniversary passed almost unnoticed. At 8:15 AM on August 6th, 1945, 67 years ago, an American B-29 bomber called Enola Gay dropped the atomic bomb on Hiroshima and immediately vaporized 140,000 civilians.

11. The father of the Batman Shooter is part of the banking elite and has an important role in these interesting times:
"Most important to note about James Holmes, however, this report says, is that his father, Robert Holmes, was said to have been scheduled to testify within the next few weeks before a US Senate panel on the largest bank fraud scandal in world history that is currently unfolding and threatens to destabilize and destroy the Western banking system.

Africa Just Says "Nein" To The US Dollar: Time To Go Short The USDZMK And USDGHC?

Tyler Durden's picture Last week we presented the aftermath of the very much unannounced "Conference of Beijing" as a result of which Africa has been slowly but surely converting to a continent controlled almost exclusively by China. However, there was one thing missing: even as China has been virtually the sole source of infrastructure funding in Africa, the continent has long been a legacy dollar preserve, which obviously means renminbi penetration and replacement would be problematic to say the least. As it turns out, this too is rapidly changing: as the WSJ reports, Africa is increasingly just saying "nein" to the USD. "African countries are trying to shoo the U.S. dollar away, even if it means threatening to throw people who use greenbacks in jail. Starting next year, Angola will require oil and gas companies to pay tax revenue and local contracts in kwanza, its currency, rather than dollars. Mozambique wants companies to exchange half of their export earnings for meticais, hoping to pull more of the wealth in vast coal and natural-gas deposits into the domestic economy. And Ghana is seeking similar ways to reinforce "the primacy of the domestic currency," after the cedi plummeted more than 17% against the dollar in the first six months of this year. The sternest steps come from Zambia, a copper-rich country in southern Africa where the central bank has banned dollar-denominated transactions. Offenders who are "quoting, paying or demanding to be paid or receiving foreign currency" can face a maximum 10 years in prison, the central bank said in a two-page directive in May." Is it time to dump the EUR in hopes of a short covering rally that continues to be elusive (just as Germany wants) and buy Zambian Kwachas instead? We will wait for Tom Stolper to advise Goldman clients to sell the Zambian currency first, but at this rate the USDZMK may well be the most profitable currency pair of the next 3-6 months.
Why is Africa angry at the one allmighty Greenback?

Push President Kikwete to stop the landgrab and save the Maasai

By avaaz: Dear friends,

Middle Eastern kings and princes are about to force up to 48,000 people in Tanzania from their land to make way for corporate-sponsored big game hunting. But Tanzanian President Kikwete has shown before that he will stop deals like this when they generate negative press coverage. Click to deliver a media blitz that will push President Kikwete to stop the landgrab and save these Maasai.

At any moment, a big-game hunting corporation could sign a deal which would force up to 48,000 members of Africa's famous Maasai tribe from their land to make way for wealthy Middle Eastern kings and princes to hunt lions and leopards. Experts say the Tanzanian President's approval of the deal may be imminent, but if we act now, we can stop this sell-off of the Serengeti.

The last time this same corporation pushed the Maasai off their land to make way for rich hunters, people were beaten by the police, their homes were burnt to a cinder and their livestock died of starvation. But when a press controversy followed, Tanzanian President Kikwete reversed course and returned the Maasai to their land. This time, there hasn't been a big press controversy yet, but we can change that and force Kikwete to stop the deal if we join our voices now.

If 150,000 of us sign, media outlets in Tanzania and around the world will be blitzed so President Kikwete gets the message to rethink this deadly deal. Sign the petition now and send to everyone: (Angelo: Watch out though, some sheeple at avaaz also want to topple Assad! It's also endorsed by fascist extraordinaire Al Gore. If such an excellent idea becomes a tool for the lame stream media led sheeple to hypnotically do the dark bidding of the M.I.C. wielding vampire squid... Shame)

Hypocrisy of the mainstream media

By Ken Hildebrand: This in no way is an endorsement of Paul Ryan (R-WI) but an indictment of the mainstream media and the way they report the news. If you haven’t noticed, Mitt Romney picked Paul Ryan as his vice-presidential running mate.
As was expected the mainstream media is going after him with a vengeance. To start, they call him a light weight when it comes to experience in the private sector. He also lacks experience due to his short time in congress. This is just the beginning of what will be a full blown attack on him until November.
If you don’t think that they will put the entire weight of the liberal left behind a smear campaign you are sorely mistaken.
One of the things that the media is very good at is distracting you from the real facts that actually matter. They do the old bait and switch trick when they report what they call the news.
They call themselves the protectors of freedom and then slant the news to give you their warped concept of freedom. They take away your ability to make an informed decision when it comes to the people that represent you in Washington or in your local community. That’s not protecting freedom, that’s called lying.
Four years ago the media prayed at the altar of Obama. They didn’t do their job of vetting this man but instead they hyped him up and rigged an election. I say rigged because of the information they failed to provide.
Anyone that tried to properly vet Obama was called a right wing extremist and demonized in some of the worst ways including being labeled a racist or a bigot simply for asking the same questions everyone would be asking in every other case.
It’s okay for them to rip a candidate apart so long as it is not their candidate.

Canadian children succumb to 'child-welfare-industrial complex'

"We need to protect our children from our child protection agency!" "The children are a commodity." Concerned citizens who support reform of Canada's child welfare policy assembled in front of the Calgary Courthouse this week to educate the public on the shortcomings of Alberta's child welfare system. More and more parents are finding their actions being scrutinized by social workers. And when children are removed from families their safety is not guaranteed. Source
