US Escalates: Issues Worldwide Travel Alert Following Embassy Closures
Submitted by Tyler Durden: With US leaks about Israeli air strike on
Syria, John Kerry stirring the civil war pot in Egypt, and the closure
of US embassies across the Muslim world (Iraq, Afghanistan, Qatar,
Bahrain, Oman, Kuwait, Bangladesh, Saudi Arabia, Libya, Yemen, UAE,
Algeria, Mauritania, Sudan, Israel (Tel Aviv) and Jordan), it
appears something is afoot. To add to the intrigue, the US State
Department just issued a worldwide travel alert for US citizens.

- *STATE DEPT ISSUES WORLDWIDE TRAVEL ALERT FOR U.S. CITIZENS
Via The State Department,
The Department of State has instructed certain U.S. Embassies and Consulates to remain closed or to suspend operations on Sunday, August 4.
Half Of UK 'Living On Edge'
SN: Around nine million more adults are struggling with
money compared to seven years ago, a report into the health of the
nation's finances has found.
More than half (52%) of those surveyed are living on the edge, equating
to 26 million people across the UK, Government-backed body the Money Advice Service (MAS) said. This is a sharp increase from 35% of people who were having difficulty keeping up with bills the last time similar research was carried out in 2006.
The service found that many people are suffering from poor financial skills and the squeeze on families following the economic downturn has encouraged a "live for now" culture which is dragging down people's ability to save enough for their future.
Income per hour has dropped by 6% in real terms since the previous research was carried out, making it harder for people to make ends meet.
More than 5,000 people took part in the latest financial capability survey and more than 70 families were followed over the course of a year for the Financial Capability Of The UK report, which found "a general feeling that people worry about their ability to make it to the next pay day".
It continued: "And because of this, people are focusing more on the here and now than on planning for the future, including for unforeseen emergencies."
Writer gets a visit from US war of terror police over Google searches for backpacks and pressure cookers - Happens 100 times a week
By Madison Ruppert: A professor writer reportedly received a visit from law enforcement
agents after she looked up information on pressure cookers via Google
and her husband looked up backpacks.
However, since the original story was published about the incident, some details have come into question.
Still, if Michele Catalano’s story is true, it sheds light on how the continuing and expanding use of the PRISM program run by the National Security Agency (NSA), along with other surveillance programs, is manifesting itself in the lives of Americans.
Catalano’s story is especially interesting given Glenn Greenwald’s article, published yesterday, which revealed the NSA’s XKeyscore tool which collects “nearly everything a user does on the internet” with no prior authorization required for searches.
According to Catalano, a few weeks ago she had been doing some research on pressure cookers and her husband was looking for a backpack. Though such searches might have seemed innocent in the past, as she notes, “we are in ‘these times’ now.”
This apparently led to a 9 am visit from six law enforcement agents, allegedly from “the joint terrorism task force.”

What Google Knows About You
Submitted by Tyler Durden: Earlier, we reported the personal narrative of Michele Catalano who
recounted how one day she found herself face to face with six agents
from the joint terrorism task force. The reason? "Our seemingly
innocent, if curious to a fault, Googling of certain things was creating
a perfect storm of terrorism profiling. Because somewhere out there, someone was watching. Someone
whose job it is to piece together the things people do on the internet
raised the red flag when they saw our search history."
The answer of "who" was watching should be far clearer in the
aftermath of the Snowden revelations from the past two months. But
instead of rehashing the old story of the NSA intercepting and recording
virtually every form of electronic communication that exists, or
ruminating on what filters Ms. Catalano triggered to lead to this truly
disturbing outcome, perhaps a better question is just what is it that Google knows about each and everyone who uses its interface daily, which in this day and age means everyone with a computer. As it turns out, pretty much everything.KoolAid Bubble Mentality - Max Keiser and Stacy Herbert with Dominic Frisby

Lars Schall talked with U.S. financial investment advisor Catherine Austin Fitts. Inter alia, they discussed: the shift in the global economy; various facets of gold and currency politics; the difference between official reality and reality; some background regarding NSA & Co.; and last but not least the use of the term “conspiracy theorist”. She says: “When I hear people be derogatory about conspiracies basically that to me in my world that I grew up in is simply a symptom that they have agreed to be powerless and wear it like a badge of honor.”
