By Michael Krieger: I’m not a regular Reddit user. I signed up to try it last year
because I noticed my site traffic exploded whenever one of my posts got
upvoted on Reddit. Unfortunately, I never actually crossed over into a
regular user so I’m still trying to get my head around how the community
operates. Headlines in recent days about the fact that Glenn
Greenwald’s blockbuster article on the Intercept detailing how spy agencies work to intentionally ruin a person’s reputation using lies and false stories,
was consistently being banned on the subreddit “r/news.” r/news is a
default subreddit which all users are automatically subscribed to, thus
it generates a huge amount of traffic. It’s basically the front page
news section of the 64th most popular website in the world (according to
Alexa data). That’s a big freakin’ deal.
Telling the truth has become a revolutionary act, so let us salute those who disclose the necessary facts.

Misandry, Julie Bindel, Men, Women And Murder
By Mike Buchanan: Some
weeks ago I was a speaker in a debate at Durham University, arguing for
the motion, “This House believes feminists are all too often sexists in
disguise.” One of the two women opposing the motion was Julie Bindel, a
prominent lesbian gender feminist journalist. An account of the debate was sent to me by a man in the audience. In my opening 15-minute speech I had the following to say about homeless people:
“Men are discriminated against even when they’re homeless and living
on the street. Across the UK about 90% of homeless people are men, many
of them ex-military, suffering from undiagnosed and untreated Post
Traumatic Stress Disorder. State support of ex-military people with
mental health issues, overwhelmingly men, is derisory. The reasons for
there being so many homeless men include being at the end of the queue
when it comes to social housing.
“Some months ago I wrote a blog piece on homelessness, and a female social worker who works with the homeless sent in this comment:
“Some months ago I wrote a blog piece on homelessness, and a female social worker who works with the homeless sent in this comment:
‘If a homeless woman comes into our offices on a Friday afternoon, I’m obliged to offer her money, accommodation, food and clothing. If a homeless man comes into our offices on a Friday afternoon, I’m obliged to send him back out onto the street, with nothing.’“As a sexist policy position, that takes some beating.
MGTOW and women’s adult agency
By John Hembling (JtO): A
few days ago, while working with a female friend, I encountered
something entirely new in my experience. An explicitly non-feminist
woman who, as far as I can tell, has abdicated her own personal agency.
My friend and I had been flirting with one another. Neither of us had any intention beyond verbal exchange. By itself this isn’t noteworthy, except where personal agency and my own MGTOW (Men Going Their Own Way) practices overlap.
For the uninitiated – this unwieldy appellation refers to a subset of the Men’s Human Rights Movement (MHRM) consisting of men who actively reject many of the social requirements and obligations of normal masculine identity, on the grounds that such norms are self-destructive, and conform to an inequitable sexual hierarchy.
As a MGTOW, I maintain a ledger of those of my female friends and colleagues who are allowed to enter private space with me.
This might need a bit of explanation. The culture we are all presently living in increasingly promotes the idea that women are endlessly victimized. Sexually, socially, economically, and by men. By the patriarchy.
This idea was encapsulated over a decade ago in a remark by the feminist, ACLU board member and civil libertarian Judith Levine.

Apartheid Israel Regime Pays Money To Syria Merc Groups
The
Israeli regime is paying large sums of money to foreign-backed mercenaries
fighting against the Syrian government in exchange for information on
fellow al-Qaeda-linked militants.
UK BANNED Press TV: Abu Dhabi-based newspaper The National reported on Sunday that at least three different militant groups have been in regular contact with Israeli intelligence officials.
The daily quoted a source from one of the militant groups in southern Syria as saying that all groups have received more than one tranche of funding worth hundreds of thousands of dollars from Israel.
In late February, an unnamed Israeli commander admitted that the Israeli military is in contact with the foreign-backed militant and terrorist groups inside Syria.
The Israeli commander said the militants provided Israeli intelligence officials with information on the identity and medical condition of the wounded militants.
Some reports say hundreds of terrorists have received treatment in Israeli hospitals. Most of them have returned to Syria, where they fight government forces.

Misandrists Fair Warning
By AVfM: Some
of you know that I have been considering moving from strictly writing /
postering to other forms of activism. To add to my activist tool-box
I’ve been attending courts to bear witness, and to support men who are
experiencing corruption in those courts. There will be more of me
attending courts in Southern Ontario. Things are changing for the better

Political Union In Europe: Governance Of, By, And For The Elite
By Don Quijones: At the tail end of the week, a rather curious event took place in
Madrid. Under the title “Project Europe”, it featured talks by a host of
prominent Spanish, Portuguese and Italian speakers, including the
current prime ministers of Spain and Portugal, Mariano Rajoy and Pedro
Passos Coelho, and the recently deposed Italian premier Enrico Letta.
The message from Southern Europe’s political elite was as clear as it was unified: the growth in “populism” — that is, any political movement that opposes the continued expansion of centralised power in Europe — represents a serious threat to the Union’s future. To stymie its influence, concerted efforts must be made to accelerate Europe’s march towards political union.
“We pro-Europeans are lacking a dream,” said Letta. “Others have one — to end the euro, to break up the Union… We have lost ours. Before we had one. In 1984, we had the four freedoms; in 1994, the euro; in 2004, Eastward expansion. But what about now? Today we haven’t built any long-term project of this kind. The dream must be political union.”
Letta’s sentiments were echoed by many of his fellow speakers, including the event’s organiser, Nicolas Berggruen. A dual American and German citizen, Berggruen is the billionaire founder and president of the private investment company Berggruen Holdings and the Berggruen Institute on Governance, a think tank that works on addressing governance issues.
