In its Desperation, Scandal-Riddled Spanish Government Criminalizes Solidarity
By Don Quijones: On Tuesday, March 10, 19 Spanish citizens were rounded up in dawn raids by the Madrid police. They are accused of committing a crime against the Spanish state. That crime? Trying to prevent, through passive, non-violent resistance, the forced eviction of a local resident. If found guilty, the suspects could face crippling fines.
Welcome to Rajoy’s Spain, where helping out your neighbor in his or her hour of need is now an administrative crime.
A Not-So-Silent Tragedy
In most countries that have experienced foreclosure epidemics, the eviction of neighbors and local residents is usually a quiet, if not silent, tragedy. Often people don’t realize that their neighbors have gone until hours, days or even weeks have passed. Some may never even notice.
In Spain, however, things are different. In recent years foreclosures have become a very explosive public affair, sometimes drawing the participation and attention of scores or even hundreds of people. When a local resident is threatened with eviction word quickly gets out and groups of neighbors and social activists begin forming and offering their support. By the time police officers arrive there is an almost impenetrable wall of protestors between them and the front door of the property to be foreclosed. [To get an idea of what this looks like, enter “desauhicios” + “espaƱa” in Youtube’s search engine; I can’t add the links here because providing links to images of police officers going about their business is now a chargeable offense in Spain].

25 Statist Propaganda Phrases And How To Rebut Them
By Matthew Reece: In the discourse of statists, there is a group of phrases of which one or more tend to be present in nearly every argument. While this is not an exhaustive listing of that group, it does contain twenty-five of the most common phrases that statists use in their arguments.
As propaganda has a tendency to be repetitive, some of these phrases contain the same logical fallacies, and will therefore have similar refutations. As such, the phrases are ordered so that earlier rebuttals also apply to some later phrases.

Inhuman Israeli Death Squads Attack Palestinian Boats Off Gaza Coast
Israeli regime forces have once again opened fire on
Palestinian fishermen and killed a man off the northwest coast of the Gaza Strip in their
latest act of aggression against the residents.
Orwellian UK BANNED Press TV: According to eyewitnesses, the fishermen were targeted four miles away from the coast of the al-Sudaniya area in Gaza City on Saturday morning.
The attack caused damage to one of the vessels, but no one was injured.
Israel had imposed a limit of three nautical miles on fishing in waters off the Gaza shore until last August. Israeli forces have frequently targeted Palestinian boats, well inside the radius.
In the latest incident, a 32-year-old Palestinian fisherman was shot dead and two others were arrested last week.
Under a ceasefire agreement reached between Israelis and Palestinians in August 2014, Tel Aviv agreed to immediately expand the fishing zone off Gaza’s coast, allowing fishermen to sail as far as six nautical miles off the shore. The agreement also stipulated that Israel would expand the area gradually up to 12 miles.

Are Feminists Getting The Message? J4MB Campaigning Outside Nottingham University Today.
By Mike Buchanan: Two weeks ago we were campaigning outside the University Park campus of Nottingham University, being filmed over four hours by a crew working on a BBC documentary, when some aggressive young men turned up. One hurled a quantity of very soiled cat litter over one of our vehicles – a short video of the culprit skulking off.
In response, we announced we’d return to the same spot at 11:30 – 14:00 today, and duly did so. There were two things we hadn’t announce in advance:
– two female supporters would be joining us. You’ll be seeing more of them shortly;
– a highly respected (female) documentary maker would be joining us, with a substantial crew – two video cameras, a sound lady etc. A prominent feminist – not Special Snowflake or CCP – interviewed the two ladies, Ray Barry (leader of Real Fathers for Justice, our candidate in Broxtowe), a male supporter, myself, and a young feminist who turned up.
