As the Senate Prepares to Vote on “Fast Track,” Here’s a Quick Primer on the Dangers of the TPP

The United States is in the final stages of negotiating the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP), a massive free-trade agreement with Mexico, Canada, Japan, Singapore and seven other countries. Who will benefit from the TPP? American workers? Consumers? Small businesses? Taxpayers? Or the biggest multinational corporations in the world?
One strong hint is buried in the fine print of the closely guarded draft. The provision, an increasingly common feature of trade agreements, is called “Investor-State Dispute Settlement,” or ISDS. The name may sound mild, but don’t be fooled. Agreeing to ISDS in this enormous new treaty would tilt the playing field in the United States further in favor of big multinational corporations. Worse, it would undermine U.S. sovereignty.
ISDS would allow foreign companies to challenge U.S. laws – and potentially to pick up huge payouts from taxpayers – without ever stepping foot in a U.S. court. Here’s how it would work. Imagine that the United States bans a toxic chemical that is often added to gasoline because of its health and environmental consequences. If a foreign company that makes the toxic chemical opposes the law, it would normally have to challenge it in a U.S. court. But with ISDS, the company could skip the U.S. courts and go before an international panel of arbitrators.

US Slammed At UN For Human Rights Violations, Police Brutality

The United States has been sharply criticized over its human rights record by numerous countries at the United Nations Office at Geneva.
Orwellian UK BANNED Press TV: Member nations blasted the US on Monday at the United Nations’ Human Rights Council, rebuking the country over police brutality, racial injustice, detention of prisoners at Guantánamo Bay and the continued use of the death penalty.
During the second Universal Periodic Review (UPR) of the US, country after country urged the US to strengthen legislation and expand training to eliminate racism and excessive use of force by law enforcement officers.
The UN’s UPR periodically examines the human rights performance of all 193 UN member states. The US faced its first review in 2010, when member states presented the delegation with 240 recommendations. However, the US has failed to act on many of those recommendations, according to Human Rights Watch.
"I'm not surprised that the world's eyes are focused on police issues in the US," said Alba Morales, who investigates the US criminal justice system at Human Rights Watch.

Questions For Feminists

By : War criminal Winston Churchill saidThose who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it.
The human race has some very dark history. Certain groups have destroyed other groups for whatever ideological reason they can come up with. We lived in a world that saw slavery, murder, hatred because of a physical difference, a difference in the god or gods we may have believed in.
I was taught about a lot of these as a child in school. I was taught about fountains that were relegated to a person with a certain skin colour, or how hate allowed a nation to somehow allow the Genocide of a people who were set aside only by their beliefs. How a government decided that their were thoughts that were inappropriate for people to have and decided to burn any piece of literature on topics not approved.
I was taught these things because of that quote. When I learned about these things as a kid in school I couldn’t believe people were ever so ignorant and hateful. I was a kid, I didn’t understand how hate and fear can motivate people to do crazy and stupid things. How awful hateful things come from small acts that build over time.
Recently I have seen some disturbing reincarnations of the fear and hate. It’s not genocide or murder. It is however a frightful and disturbing trend.

Fascist Canada Plans To Outlaw Support For Boycotting Apartheid Israel

Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper’s Conservative government has signaled plans to apply hate crime laws against advocacy groups that encourage the boycott of Israeli Zio-Nazis, a report says.
Press TV: The report by the Canadian broadcaster, CBC News on Monday said the move would target numerous civil society organizations who promote the boycott over the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories and the expansion of its illegal settlements in the besieged areas.
“If carried out, it would be a remarkably aggressive tactic, and another measure of the Conservative government's lockstep support for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu,” the report read.
The Harper government’s intention was revealed in statements by federal ministers to the broadcaster about a zero tolerance policy toward groups supporting the Boycott, Divest and Sanction (BDS) movement, which is part of international efforts to pressure the Tel Aviv regime to stop its land theft in the occupied Palestinian territory.

We non feminist men and women discuss the most useful thing it is possible to know about feminism, if your goal is to end feminism. And that is, the fact that feminism HATE AND FEARS everything which is not feminism. In other words, that feminism hates and fears the rest of the world. This is the great kryptonite superweapon which is ours to command, if only we understand how it works and then how to put it to work.

Wal-Mart Does A Dell Boy Bottling Water From Municipal Supply During Drought

Wal-Mart is facing questions tonight after CBS13 learns the company draws its bottled water from a Sacramento water district during California’s drought.
According to its own labeling, the water in the gallon jugs appears to come from Sacramento’s water supply.

Sacramento sells water to a bottler, DS Services of America, at 99 cents for every 748 gallons—the same rate as other commercial and residential customers. That water is then bottled and sold at Walmart for 88 cents per gallon, meaning that $1 of water from Sacramento turns into $658.24 for Walmart and DS Services.
