Jack Barnes, a member of the AVfM team, likes to taunt feminists on Twitter, and gets his fair share of harassment right back. He generally responds to these Twitter wars by mocking his detractors, and promising to continue harassing the brain-dead ideology of feminism until feminism itself is dead. A few days ago, one of David Futrelle’s minions decided the person most responsible for Jack’s tweets and general attitude towards feminism is Jack’s six year old cutie-pie of a daughter because of course a child is responsible. The Futrelle minion created a Twitter account, uploaded a picture of Jack’s daughter and his wife, tweeted Jack’s home address and tagged David Futrelle, demanding that Jack apologize for his ‘dishonesty, whatever that means. Futrelle’s insistence that he knew nothing about the threat against a child rings pretty fucking hollow, given that he was tagged in the tweets.

The state is responsible – through its actions and inactions – for many of the crises that lead men to kill themselves. As a class, men have long suffered high levels of reactive depression, the form brought on by distressing life events. This is driving the relentlessly high male suicide rate, rather than long-term mental health issues.

How Mega Corporations Rigged The US H-1B Visa Program At The Expense Of Small Business

“The H-1B program is critical as a way for [US] employers to fill skill gaps and for really talented people to come to the United States,” said Ronil Hira, a professor at Howard University who studies visa programs. “But the outsourcing companies are squeezing out legitimate users of the program,” he said. “The H-1Bs are actually pushing jobs offshore.”

Those firms have used the visas to bring their employees, mostly from India, for large contracts to take over work at American businesses. And as the share of H-1B visas obtained by outsourcing firms has grown, more Americans say they are being put out of work, or are seeing their jobs moved overseas.

The top companies receiving H-1B visas in recent years, Professor Hira found, include Tata Consultancy Services, known as TCS, Infosys and Wipro, all outsourcing giants based in India; Cognizant, with headquarters in New Jersey; and Accenture, a global operation incorporated in Ireland.

By Jonathan Owen: A decision by Britain to refuse a group of Palestinian medical experts from Gaza permission to participate in an international conference at Kingston University on trauma in war zones has been condemned by campaigners.
Three doctors and a nurse who work for the Ministry of Health in Gaza, and were due to give presentations at the conference taking place this weekend, have had their visa requests refused by British authorities. 
In addition to the four mental health specialists refused entry, Dr Nahida Al-Arja, a psychologist from Bethlehem University, has had her visa application rejected. 
A letter by the UK Palestine Mental Health Network, co-organisers of the conference, published in the Independent, says: “It is beyond our comprehension how such an interference with intellectual and clinical discussion on such an important topic could be justified.
This is a measure that further isolates clinicians from Gaza, already struggling under the impact of military assaults and siege,”
