Galbert Of Bruges Described Cuckolding Of Eminent Walter Of Vladslo
By Author Douglas Galbi: In early twelfth-century Flanders, Walter of Vladslo was an eminent peer, second in eminence only to the Count of Flanders. Yet according to Galbert of Bruges’s twelfth-century journal, Walter of Vladslo was also a cuckold. Men, unlike women, face the problem of biological parental uncertainty. As Galbert’s history makes clear, this parental knowledge gender inequality can have dire consequences for eminent men as well as ordinary men.
Walter of Vladslo’s wife deceived him by switching infants. Galbert of Bruges reported:
Walter of Vladslo’s wife deceived him by switching infants. Galbert of Bruges reported:
The father truly believed to be his son the boy, to whom the supposed mother, the wife of the aforesaid Walter, had earlier pretended dishonestly to have given birth. But the infant to whom she had given birth had died in childbirth. She thus replaced him with the shoemaker’s son,

Men More Socially Disparaged In Cross-Dressing Than Women Are
By Author Douglas Galbi: Social constraints on men are tighter than those on women. For example, men are punished more severely than women for the same crimes, and men’s sexuality is much more harshly regulated. Societies exploit men as tools for producing goods and fighting wars. Social policing keeps most men within those narrow roles. Comparing social valuations of cross-dressing men and women in a rhetorical exercise of the sixth-century Roman sophist Choricius of Gaza and hagiography of Saint Pelagia shows tighter social constraints on men.
In Choricius’s rhetorical exercise, a general wore women’s clothing to defeat his city’s enemies. A prior general had recently suffered a terrible defeat for the city. The city was then besieged and in grave danger. Seeing no alternative, the second general dressed in women’s clothing and made a nocturnal ambush on the enemy. The second general thus saved the city and became a war hero.

China Tech: Interesting Bits And Pieces
By Fred Reed: To one watching the advance of Chinese science and technology, or to me anyway, several things stand out. First, the headlong pace. Second, the amount of it that appears aimed at making China independent of the West technologically and getting the United States off Beijing’s back. Third, the apparent calculated focus. It looks like intelligent design, as distinct from America’s competitive scrabbling for profit by special interests, the hope being that this might inadvertently benefit the country as a whole.
In short, the Chinese seem to Have Something In Mind.
As I have mentioned before, China came out of nowhere to become the world leader in supercomputers. Also in high-speed rail, of strategic importance in its plan to united Europe and Asia economically. Heavy investment in solar power offers to ameliorate its dependence on oil from the Persian Gulf, vulnerable to blockage by the US Navy. Then there is DF21D terminally guided ballistic missile, specifically intended as a carrier-killer in what China regards as its home waters. The list could go on at length.
In much of America, the Chinese are dismissed as being “unable to innovate,” inventiveness being thought of as unique to white men. Thinner ice has perhaps never been trod.
The Chinese are smart. They are certainly capable of high-grade engineering and scientific research. (Eg., Beijing Genomics Institute)

Washington Has Been At War For 16 Years: Why?
For Washington to continue to provoke Russia and China is a sign of insanity.
By Paul Craig Roberts: For sixteen years the US has been at war
in the Middle East and North Africa, running up trillions of dollars in
expenses, committing untold war crimes, and sending millions of war refugees to
burden Europe, while simultaneously claiming that Washington cannot afford its
Social Security and Medicare obligations or to fund a national health service
like every civilized country has.
Considering the enormous social needs that cannot be met because of the massive
cost of these orchestrated wars, one would think that the American people would
be asking questions about the purpose of these wars. What is being achieved at
such enormous costs? Domestic needs are neglected so that the military/security
complex can grow fat on war profits.
The lack of curiousity on the part of the American people, the media, and
Congress about the purpose of these wars, which have been proven to be based
entirely on lies, is extraordinary. What explains this conspiracy of silence,
this amazing disinterest in the squandering of money and lives?
