“James Damore, The Engineer Who Wrote The ‘Google Memo’ And Was Fired For It, Is Right”
...Says Debra Soh, PhD Sexual Neuroscience, York University
The College Fix: James Damore got fired from Google because the highly educated engineer (who was working toward a PhD in systems biology from Harvard) said biology appears to play some role in the career pursuits of men and women, including at Google. He has the right enemies, and the right allies.
Human sexuality science writer Debra Soh [right], who has a PhD in sexual neuroscience from York University, writes in The Globe and Mail that Damore’s internal memo was “fair and factually accurate.”
She points to studies that show higher levels of prenatal testosterone (typical in boys) “are associated with a preference for mechanically interesting things and occupations in adulthood,” including in girls with a certain genetic condition:
When they are born, these girls prefer male-typical, wheeled toys, such as trucks, even if their parents offer more positive feedback when they play with female-typical toys, such as dolls.

Tories Have Succumbed To The Long March Of The Cultural Marxists
By David Kurten: Not a week goes by without some new decree from the politically correct thought police. Yet recently, a more sinister turn has been taken.
It has been the case for some time that the PC thought police are making more and more onerous restrictions on what we are allowed to say. In fact, it started before many of us were born. In the 1960s, for example, the phrase ‘unmarried mothers’ was decreed harmful and we all had to say ‘single mothers’ instead. A few years later that too was declared un-PC and replaced with ‘single parents’, then this too ousted in favour of ‘lone parents’. Then in case that was offensive came ‘people at home’; and now ‘important people’ is the approved expression for the apparently unmentionable role, a phrase which is as meaningless as it is ridiculous.
This progression gives a glimpse into the way changes in language have been enforced by the cultural revolutionaries of the Left over thedecades, paralleling their progressive attack on marriage, family, Christianity and nationhood decade by decade. But now it is no longer enough to avoid ‘offensive’ speech.

The Madman With Nuclear Weapons Is Donald Trump, Not Kim Jong-Un
By Mehdi Hasan: For once, Donald Trump has a point. “We can’t let a madman with nuclear weapons let on the loose like that,” he told Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte, according to the transcript from their bizarre phone conversation that was leaked to The Intercept in May.
The madman the U.S. president was referring to, of course, was North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un. The madman the rest of us should be worried about, however, is Trump himself, who — lest we forget — has the sole, exclusive and unrestricted power to launch almost 1,000 nuclear warheads in a matter of minutes, should he so wish.
Most nonproliferation experts — as well as former President Jimmy Carter and a number of former Pentagon and State Department officials, both Republican and Democrat — agree that the brutal and murderous Kim, for all his bluster, is not irrational or suicidal, but bent on preserving his regime and preventing a U.S. attack. Nuclear weapons are a defensive, not an offensive, tool for the North Korean leadership

Google Is Committed To
The Suppression Of Free Speech
By Paul Craig Roberts: This is an update to my earlier posting this morning [below]. The Google engineer, a Harvard Ph.D., who raised questions about the non-fact-based ideological culture within the Google organization has been identified and fired.
Sundar Pichai, Google’s CEO, said that the employee in expressing his views had violated Google’s code of conduct and had crossed “the line by advancing harmful gender stereotypes in our workplace.” The employee, James Damore, confirms that he was fired for “perpetuating gender stereotypes” by expressing his views.
Having fired Damore or permitted Google’s Thought Control Czar, Danielle Brown, to fire Damore, Sundar Pichai delivered a caricature of hypocrisy. Sundar addressed Damore’s “co-workers who are questioning whether they can safely express their views in the workplace, especially those with a minority viewpoint. They too feel under threat, and that is also not OK. People must feel free to express dissent.”
