B Is For Book Burners

By Gilad Atzmon: The New York Daily News reports that Leaders of a prominent West Side synagogue are threatening to cancel a book fair next month unless a nearby store ditches a pro-Palestine children’s book.
“P is for Palestine” teaches children the alphabet using Palestinian references. But Rabbi Ammiel Hirsch  (photo above) of the Stephen Wise Free Synagogue said it also glorifies violence.
“The book states that ‘I is for Intifada,’ Arabic for rising up for what is right, if you are a kid or grownup!” Rabbi Hirsch said in an open letter posted on the temple’s website. “The intifada was not ‘a rising up for what is right.’ It was a mass descent into immorality.” 
It would be helpful if the Rabbi explains to us how a popular uprise against a brutal racist occupier is 'immoral.'  I would also like to learn from the rabbi whether book burning is a reform Jewish value, it has clearly become a popular exercise.

'They Never Send Their Children To Fight For Their Country'

Reported by Gilad Atzmon: Israel's deputy foreign minister Tzipi Hotovely attacked U.S. Jewry in an interview with i24 News on Wednesday.  Hotovely referred to American Jews as  “people that never send their children to fight for their country, most of the Jews don’t have children serving as soldiers, going to the Marines, going to Afghanistan, or to Iraq. Most of them are having quite convenient lives…”

PM Netanyahu was very quick to condemn his deputy minister. This is understandable, after all Jews being reluctant to fight American wars doesn’t fit nicely  with the embarrassing  fact that America has been fighting Israeli wars for a while.

Israeli Diplomats Get Cold Shoulder From UK Students

By Alia Malak: As Israel and the UK government celebrate 100 years of the Balfour Declaration – marking Britain’s support for the settler project that led to the ethnic cleansing of Palestine – students on British campuses are asserting their support for Palestinian rights.
Last month, dozens of students demonstrated when Michael Freeman, counsellor for civil society affairs at the Israeli embassy in London, visited Bristol.
Students say they opposed Freeman’s visit because of the policies he represents as an Israeli diplomat.

Student protesters engaged with passersby on campus and passed out educational leaflets on Israel’s war crimes. The protest lasted for the entire duration of Freeman’s two-hour event.

Whitewashing

Freeman’s visit to Bristol was part of a series of talks given by Israeli diplomats at universities around the UK. The talks are an attempt by the Israeli embassy to whitewash Israel’s crimes against the Palestinian people.

Both Freeman and Mark Regev, Israel’s ambassador to the UK, recently scheduled events on campuses across the country.
This is part and parcel of a larger project, backed by Israel, of fighting the Palestinian-led boycott, divestment and sanctions movement and its supporters who run campaigns to end UK corporate and institutional complicity in Israel’s human rights violations.

The following article was written in a disgusting attempt to ’educate’ the Goyim on how to discuss the Israeli-Palestine conflict without offending the Jews.  Israel defines itself as ‘The Jewish State.’ Its airplanes and tanks are decorated with Jewish symbols. The Jewish state is institutionally supported by world Jewry.  This means that  the relationships between and among  Israel, Zionism, Jews, Judaism and Jewishness must be open to scrutiny and criticism. The article’s author insists that this is not the case.  He or she endeavours to set ‘guidelines’ -- a rule bound  Jerusalemite mode of engagement that sustains complete intellectual, political and spiritual paralysis.
I guess that before we delve into the liberation of Palestine we may want to emancipate ourselves first.
