The guide pinpoints settler colonialism as the underlying basis for Israeli apartheid while also advocating vigorously for an intersectional approach to unify struggles for human rights.
This is the third study guide related to human rights in Palestine published and issued by the Israel/Palestine Mission Network (IPMN) – the first being Steadfast Hope (revised edition 2011) and the second the aptly named Zionism Unsettled (2014).
The latter faced significant pushback from the liberal Zionist organization J Street for exposing the ideological roots of Israel’s human rights violations and led to the withdrawal of the publication from the church’s website. As IPMN notes, it speaks “to” and not “for” the Presbyterian Church.

US Senate Votes To Legalize Hemp After 80 Years Of Prohibition

Authored by Carey Wedler: On Thursday, the U.S. Senate approved a bill to legalize hemp, an industrial crop that has been banned for decades.
In April, Senators Mitch McConnell (R-KY), Rand Paul (R-KY), Ron Wyden (D-OR), and Jeff Merkley (D-OR) submitted a separate bill to legalize hemp, and those provisions were then incorporated into the broader farm bill. The Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry approved that version before the upper house of Congress voted to approve it this week by a margin of 86-11. The bill would legalize the cultivation, processing, and sale of hemp.

"Consumers across America buy hundreds of millions in retail products every year that contain hemp," McConnell said Thursday.
"But due to outdated federal regulations that do not sufficiently distinguish this industrial crop from its illicit cousin, American farmers have been mostly unable to meet that demand themselves. It's left consumers with little choice but to buy imported hemp products from foreign-produced hemp."

By Gilad Atzmon: The Israeli press reports this morning that “Israel transferred aid to Syrians seeking refuge near border in overnight mission.”
On first glimpse it seems that Israel has made a crucial and timely humanitarian effort. The IDF says it provided tons of food, medicine and clothing to Syrians living in makeshift encampments on the Golan border. But the IDF also made it clear that it “won’t allow Syrians fleeing the country into Israel and will continue to defend Israel's national security interests.” We are entitled to presume that the Israel humanitarian aid was given to discourage Syrian refugees from approaching the Israeli border. The Israelis were in effect telling the Syrian evacuees, ‘we will give you water and food, just make sure you don’t seek refuge in our Jews only State.’
This attitude is in stark contradiction to the message we hear from Diaspora Jews. Just a week ago American Jewish organisations, “alarmed by the U.S. government’s zero tolerance policy to immigration,” submitted a letter to the American administration.  "As Jews, we understand the plight of being an immigrant fleeing violence and oppression,” the letter said, “We believe that the United States is a nation of immigrants and how we treat the stranger reflects on the moral values and ideals of this nation."
It seems that this understanding of alleged ‘Jewish values’ does not apply to the Jewish State.

Two new jails are to be built, the prisons minister announced yesterday as he said that the government would come under pressure from longer and “more brutal” sentences.
Rory Stewart said that the Ministry of Justice was planning for the prison population to rise by about 10,000 to 93,000. Officials were working to a “worst-case scenario” because sentences were longer, offenders more prolific and, over the next 15 years, victims of crime were likely to demand tougher sentences for burglary and causing death by dangerous or careless driving.
He said that he would like to significantly reduce “if not eliminate” sentences of 12 months or less, but admitted that this may not apply to violent and sexual offenders. There is no legislative slot to introduce such a change.

It is alleged that she disabled the water mains, to ensure that the fire could not be put out, and then set the granny flat at the back of the man’s parent’s house alight to ensure that he perished.
The man died 2 days later from his burns, in the arms of his mother and father.
Three weeks before the women was charged, another women had doused her male partner in gasoline and set him alight, all while their 11 year old son was in the next room listening to his father scream. 
But is this typical female behavior; are women capable of being violent to men?
 Well, we will probably never know, because even before the female perpetrator has a chance to accuse her victim of being abusive to her, society is already doing it on her behalf.

By Robert Brockway: A young woman, Eurydice Dixon, was recently raped and murdered in Victoria, Australia. Following this Mr Daniel Andrews, the Premier of Victoria, stated in a Facebook post that men needed to change their behaviour in order to reduce violence against women.
Mr Andrews should not be calling on men to change their behaviour because it is not intrinsically male behaviour that is the problem. Most men are law abiding citizens who are far more likely to help a woman than ever hurt her, and this is true even for women they do not know.
If Mr Andrews believes that he can get a group of people to collectively choose to change their behaviour then he should simply ask criminals to change their behaviour. Most people would find it self-evident that this will not work.
Increasing numbers of Australian men are running out of patience with being collectively blamed for things they didn’t do and would never do.
Mr Andrews’ call for men to change their behaviour is nothing more than political grandstanding at the expense of men. Further, his statements do nothing to help women in this country.
Victoria Police have a suspect in custody for the rape and murder of Eurydice Dixon. Let justice be done.
If Mr Andrews seeks to reduce the rate of violent crime in Victoria he should take the time to look at research in to the causes of violent crime and establish evidence based policies to reduce violent crime. Casually blaming innocent people for the actions of others will do nothing.

BBC Finds Andrew Marr Guilty Of Telling The Truth

Reported by Gilad Atzmon: Fake news is so deeply entrenched in the British media that telling the truth can get you into real trouble.  The Daily Mail reported yesterday that Andrew Marr was found “guilty of a breach of rules over a 'misleading' claim that Israel killed 'lots of Palestinian kids'”
During the 8 April Sunday news programme, Marr concluded a discussion of the Syrian regime’s chemical weapons attack on civilians by saying: "And the Middle East is aflame again. ‘I mean there’s lots of Palestinian kids being killed further south as well by Israeli forces."
Antisemitism campaigner Jonathan Sacerdoti lodged a complaint, saying that: “when talking about a story on the use of chemical weapons in Syria, Andrew Marr for some reason decided to talk about Israel (which was unrelated anyway). He stated 'there’s a lot of Palestinian kids being killed further south by Israeli forces'.”
It seems that Andrew Marr had failed to grasp that Britain is no longer a free space. Thoughts, ideas, associations and the like cannot be shared or explored in the open unless approved by one specific foreign lobby.   
Sacerdoti  wrote to the BBC that the reference to Gaza is “completely incorrect and is made up. This was irrelevant to the conversation on Syria… and also actually completely false.”

Code Section 2-1402.31, which bars discriminatory actions against people in whole or in part due to characteristics including race, religion, nationality, sex, age, and more, including political affiliation. Violations can result in punishments including court-ordered corrective action or monetary penalties.”
If you own a restaurant or any other “public accommodation” in DC, you cannot “discriminate” against people holding political opinions you disagree with. You are bound by law to serve Ku Klux Klan members and Antifa terrorists alike. 
It was Thomas Jefferson who said the only moral commercial transaction is one truly voluntary on the part of the buyer and the seller.

It holds a stretch of land on the eastern bank of the Euphrates which the US has appropriated for itself and the Kurdish-dominated SDF coalition yet refuses to clear. The group also has numerous hiding places in the desert to the west of river which due to its vastness and lack of infrastructure is difficult to control.
June 8-10 ISIS fighters came out of these desert bases in a raiding counter-offensive. In the surprise attack it was able to take over part of the outskirts of the city of Abu Kamal which lies on the Syrian side of the border with Iraq, but were then forced to fall back.

According to Americans, Jewish State of Israel jets, drones or missiles flew over 500 kilometers all the way to the other side of Syria to make themselves an air force for ISIS

Involved in repelling the ISIS were not just the Syrian army and local tribes organized in the NDF militia units, but also volunteer Iraqi militias of Kata’ib Hezbollah. Since this week this Syrian-Iraqi coalition has a new enemy.
On the night from June 17 to 18 air strikes hit Syrian military bases at Abu Kamal. They killed 22 Kata’ib Hezbollah fighters and an unknown number of Syrians. The Syrians first accused the Americans of hitting them — this was logical since the US hit the Syrian army in eastern Syria four times in May-June 2017, twice in February 2018, and again in April 2018.

Assad: Syria To Take Control Of Manbij By Force

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad says Damascus will take control of the country’s north BY FORCE if forces backed by the Jewish Israel, US and Turkey refuse to surrender. In an interview with a Russian TV channel, Assad said fighting with US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces is not the best option for Damascus. He, however, stressed that fighting is the ONLY way to get control of the country. He was referring to the northern town of Manbij where S-D-F forces hold some territory. Meanwhile, the Syrian president said his country will not accept any fund from foreign countries to rebuild Syria. Assad said Syria has enough strength to do so and if it does not have the money, it will ask its friends for help.

Each year the attendance increases (by my informal reckoning, at least) and the range of speakers widens, including speakers from abroad.
Martin opened by reminding us of the expected values. Martin alluded to the distinction between men being expected to change to accommodate society’s demands and society needing to accommodate men’s needs. I look forward to hearing more about “from empathy gap to gender distortion matrix” in due course. I was rather disconcerted by “equity of outcome”. It sounded rather like an attempt to appease. With the macro-demographic micro-replication monster currently chewing its way through the economy, I don’t think we should be feeding it.
The first day of the conference was on the dark side, or downside, of masculinity – much of which related to offenders. The second day concentrated on more positive aspects of masculinity.

Children are strapped down, hooded and beaten, or drugged by force, as part of the everyday procedure in what can only be called the American Gulag.

An Associated Press report published Thursday gave details of the abuses committed last year against young Latino migrants at the Shenandoah Valley Juvenile Center near Staunton, Virginia. Lawyers for the teenage victims sued the prison—a state facility run by a consortium of seven towns and cities in the Shenandoah Valley—and a court hearing is set for July.

According to a half-dozen sworn statements, given by the victims in Spanish and then translated for filing with the federal court for the Western District of Virginia, children as young as 14 were beaten while handcuffed, tied down to chairs while stripped naked and hooded, and held for long periods in solitary confinement, sometimes naked and cold.

Bush’s first term when the newspaper sat on the story that the Bush regime was spying without warrants. The NY Times sat on the story for a year, allowing Bush to be reelected without controversy and allowing the government time to legalize the spying on an ex post facto basis.

On the day Donald Trump was elected his supporters asked him to pardon the founder and frontman of WikiLeaks, Julian Assange. They flooded social media demanding Assange be allowed to leave the Ecuadorian embassy in London without arrest and extradition to the United States.

A few months before the election, WikiLeaks released a searchable archive of over 30,000 emails and attachments taken from Hillary Clinton’s not-so private email server. 
Trump held no aversion to exploiting the emails. He called them the Crooked Hillary emails and said they endangered the national security of the United States. 
Democrats called foul, said Assange had colluded with Putin and the Russians. 
In April, they filed a lawsuit in federal court against the Russian government, the Trump campaign, and WikiLeaks. They argue there was a widespread conspiracy to swing the 2016 election.
They have zero evidence of this. Evidence is no longer required. Accusations alone now serve to take down leaders and destroy careers.
