How Our Country Was Stolen

By Paul Craig Roberts: Today is Easter, an important Christian holiday. But it is not marked on the calendar that is part of the Apple software that came with my Apple computer lap top. Today is also April Fools day, and that is marked on the Apple-supplied calendar. For Apple’s programmers, April Fools Day trumps Easter.
How can it be that an American company, Apple, can remember to mark on the calendar Cinco de Mayo (May 5), Mexico’s commemoration of a Mexican army victory of the French in the Battle of Puebla in 1862, but not Easter?
Hanukkah on December 13, but not Easter?
Kwanzaa on December 26, but not Easter?
Groundhog Day on February 2, but not Easter?
St. Patrick’s Day on March 17, but not Easter?
Earth Day on April 22, but not Easter?
First Day of Ramadan Muslim holiday on May 15, but not Easter?
Eid al-Fitr marking the end of Ramadan on June 15-17, but not Easter?
Eid al-Adha, the Muslim Sacrifice Feast, on August 20, but not Easter?
Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, on September 10, but not Easter?
Yom Kippur, Jewish holiday on September 19, but not Easter?
Ashura, Muslim holiday, on September 20, but not Easter?
Diwali, the Hindu Festival of Lights, on November 7, but not Easter?
This is how our culture is stolen and our memories are dimmed. In my day the spring holiday was known as Easter Holiday. Today it is known as Spring Break, a time for drunken and sexually promiscuous bacchanal on Florida’s beaches.

Opinion: Debunking The Jewish State Of Israel’s Talking Points On Deadly Gaza Protests

What quality of life has convinced tens of thousands of human beings that such danger represents their best hope?"
By Marilyn Garson: In 1988 at the gates of Jerusalem’s Old City, I watched Palestinian youths face down Israeli soldiers. The soldiers held rifles, while the Palestinians held stones. That asymmetry sent the Judaism of my childhood crashing headlong into my sense of justice. The stones demanded that I ask, “What could make a young man risk his life this way?”
My work with war-affected communities later brought me to the Gaza Strip. Living there from 2011 to 2015, I confronted Israel’s power from the ground.
On Friday, Land Day, unarmed Gazans confronted this power once more; they were commemorating the six unarmed protesters who were killed 42 years ago in 1976 as they protested the expropriation of Arab-owned land in northern Israel. Organizers in Gaza had called for a season of nonviolent protest lasting until the day of the so-called Nakba, when Palestinians mourn the losses of 1948, asserting the rights of refugees who comprise the majority of Gaza’s population.
Tens of thousands of Gazans walked toward the border facing a heavily armed Israeli line. They walked toward rifles and drones.

Folly Of Chivalry: Women Don’t Want A Man For Kitchen Help

A youth in fourteenth-century Florence memorized words he wanted to say when he first approached a woman that he ardently loved. One day, he saw his beloved in church. But he was struck dumb with performance anxiety. His friend pushed him forward:
Urged and impelled by his friend, he as a stunned and lost soul approached the woman. He forgot all that he had thought out, and didn’t dare to say anything. His friend kept urging him to utter some words. “Lady,” at last he said, “I am your lowly servant.”
{ Ille, velut amisso spiritu stupidus, hortante atque impellente socio, prope mulierem adiit; oblitusque eorum quae cogitaverat, cum neque auderet loqui, socius autem instaret ut saltem verba funderet, tandem ille: “Domina,” inquit, “ego sum vester servitialis.” }
Learned authorities have long exalted “courtly love” and urged men to abase themselves to women. That’s a losing strategy. The youth’s chivalric words were folly:

London Murder Rate Overtakes New York Amid Spike In Stabbings, Shootings

By Tyler Durden: London has surpassed New York City's murder rate for the second month in a row, due mostly to a spike in knife crime and shootings which left 15 Londoners dead in February - nine of whom were age 30 or younger, and 22 dead in March vs. New York City's 21, according to the Sunday Times.
While both cities have around 8.5 million people, NYC's murder rate has dropped by around 87% since the 1990's, while London's has grown approximately 40% in just three years - not including deaths from terrorist attacks. Experts have credited the NYPD's zero-tolerance policing model driving down the homicide rate in NYC from around 2,000 deaths in 1990 to 230 last year.
London, however, is experiencing a spike in violent crime.
On Saturday a murder probe was launched after a 36-year-old woman was killed in what is believed to be the 30th incident of fatal knife crime in the capital this year.
The death came just hours after a man 23-year-old man died after being stabbed in the neck in Plumstead, south-east London on Thursday evening.
