By Sarah Algherbawi: It took a few months before I felt the time was right for a conversation with my friend Amjad Hassan.

Amjad, a photographer, and I worked together in the organization Press House-Palestine four years ago.

We have kept in contact since then. But after The Jews attacked Gaza in May, I sensed that it would be too painful for Amjad to speak.

My feeling was largely based on a video I had seen. It showed Amjad weeping over the dead body of his sister Yasmin in an emergency room.

In those images, Amjad looks inconsolable.

When we finally spoke, Amjad talked me through the horrors that had been inflicted on his family by the Jews.

Authored by Steve Watson: Facebook owned Instagram has censored Evolutionary biologist Colin Wright after he posted a chart that proves men are biologically stronger than women in a range of sports, even if they have undergone gender transitioning treatment.

Instagram removed Wright’s post which contained a chart from a scientific study titled Transgender Women in the Female Category of Sport: Perspectives on Testosterone Suppression and Performance Advantage.

The peer-reviewed study was published in the journal Medicine & Sports, which has been in wide circulation since 1969. 

The study by researchers at the University of Manchester in the UK and Karolinska University Hospital in Stockholm found that biological males categorically have performance advantages over biological females across sports that are contested in the Olympics.

Authored by Steve Watson: Following the announcement that police in the UK are setting up a scheme to use CCTV cameras to watch women at night to make them ‘feel safer’, Madeline Stone of the privacy advocate group Big Brother Watch argued that there are already masses of surveillance cameras everywhere and they do not make people any safer or prevent crime.

Stone emphasised that adding more cameras strips away privacy and is in no way a solution to the problem, including harassment of and violence against women.

By Isabel van Brugen: The head of the Chicago police officers union on Tuesday called on its members to refuse to comply with the city’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate, which is set to take effect on Friday.

“Do not fill out the portal information,” Chicago Fraternal Order of Police President John Catanzara said in a video to officers posted on YouTube.

“I’ve made my status very clear as far as the vaccine, but I do not believe the city has the authority to mandate that to anybody—let alone that information about your medical history.”
