First was a piece of brainwashing to convince readers that it will be "O.K." to introduce lie detectors and to convict people on this basis. Even more serious in terms of its implications was a responsible article, written by David Rose, explaining the dangers of the proposal to hold evidence in secret in courts and inquests.
