WD: Wow that's a shock. Clearly 'Jezza' is trying to redeem himself. In the urban dictionary under white knight mangina you should find JK's photo. White knighting is the premise of his show. Perhaps someone informed him about the male suicide rate and he grew a conscience. As far as I am aware [having not watched lame-stream TV for about a decade] this is out of character. Nevertheless it is a welcome development.
By Mike Buchanan: Our thanks to William for this. The overwhelming majority of the audience members were women.
By Jess Wilson: Jeremy Kyle was forced to step in and ask his audience to refrain from laughing as a male domestic violence victim recalled how he had been forced to jump off a balcony to escape his violent partner.
Geoff appeared on the morning chat show to confront his abusive ex-girlfriend, Danni, who he has two children with.
The dad-of-two told Jeremy he wanted proof that the children were his after he found out Danni had been cheating on him.
In the process of recalling the history between them, Geoff spoke about how he had been assaulted by his ex.
“It was violent from her side. it is a bit embarrassing to admit it,” Geoff said.
Geoff then went on to recall a time when he was forced to jump off a third-floor balcony to escape her after she locked him in their flat.
“I ended up in hospital and I cut all my arm and back open,” Geoff explained.
The audience then burst into fits of laughter, at which point Jeremy was forced to step in and defend his guest.
“It’s not funny though is it?” he said. “I don’t want to upset anyone in the audience but if a woman was sat here and a bloke had locked her in a flat and she’d been forced to jump out you would not be laughing.
“You would be saying he is a total nightmare, he should be locked up and this is disgraceful.
“Just because it happened to a bloke it is not funny.”
The audience were quickly silenced, before clapping for Jeremy after his speech.
And Twitter was impressed with Jeremy’s monologue.
“That is one of the best things Jezza has ever said,” commented one viewer.
“Yeah, you fucking sexist audience. Give yourself a round of applause,” said another.
At this point, Danni is invited out onto the stage and defends herself, denying that she locked Geoff in the flat.
The DNA results are then revealed and Geoff finds out he is the dad.
The couple shake hands and agree to work together for the sake of their children.
