The Middle Class And Why It's Disappearing
Hillsdale College: Victor Davis Hanson explores the roots of citizenship in ancient Greece, explains how a strong middle class is essential to free government, and describes how we are losing the middle class today.
We have been conned into a system of faux democracy and we're loving our own servitude just enough to stalemate a revolution in aid of actual democracy.
How can I say such a thing? Because the elephant in the room that even Victor fails to address, an elephant that he and many other highly intelligent people appear to completely fail to even notice, is the fact that at the outset 'voting for someone else to vote on your behalf' in and of itself is an utter con and very far from the ancient Greek concept of democracy that can then rely on a strong middle class in order to be at once wholesome and effective.
