If providing material assistance to al-Qaeda is illegal under the National Defence Authorization Act (2012), and Obama and Congress are sending $25 million of aid to al-Qaeda-affiliated Syrian opposition, aren’t Congress and President Obama violating their own law? Should Obama (or at least the Justice Department) not be using “all necessary and appropriate force” including “the power to indefinitely detain” to prevent Obama and Congress from assisting al-Qaeda? Did anyone in Congress or the Obama administration even bother to read the law that they were signing? Do Federal laws no longer apply to lawmakers?

Steve Watson: A prominent artificial intelligence expert has urged that president Obama is setting a horrendous precedent by embracing drone technology as a means of covert warfare.

Professor Noel Sharkey of Sheffield University, penned a piece in The Guardian today that slams the use of missile strikes using unmanned ariel vehicles, warning that what we are seeing is just the beginning of “the industrial revolution of war.”

Sharkey notes that the CIA is thought to have killed anywhere up to 1035 civilians in drone strikes outside of legitimate war zones in the last eight years, including 200 children.

“Who in their right mind would give a powerful unmanned air force to a covert organisation with such a track record for unaccountable and illegal killing?” the professor asks.

“Obama is establishing a dangerous precedent that is, at best, legally questionable in a world where more than 50 countries are acquiring the technology.” he adds.

Sharkey warns that in a modern day arms race, other countries such as Israel, India, Russia and especially China are racing to develop and export armed attack drones.

By Madison Ruppert: The second campaign of Barack Obama has adopted tactics similar to those used in the 2008 campaign, namely, making the personal information of registered voters available to Obama canvassers in an effort to bombard as many people with pro-Obama messages as possible with as little effort as possible.

It’s quite sad to say that by the Obama administration’s standards this is hardly worth mentioning. When the standard is set by fighting to maintain unconstitutional warrantless wiretapping powers, claiming private reviews of classified evidence count as due process and legitimizing the assassination of Americans, an app like this seems almost acceptable.

The free iOS application, called “Obama for America,” was released by the Democratic National Committee on July 31, 2012. It boasts some features which are to be expected such as featured news, events, and other information pertinent to the Obama campaign.

It gets creepy when one explores the canvassing feature which automatically recognizes your location and marks registered Democratic households nearby with a blue flag icon.

These flags don’t just mark the home; they also include some quite personal information like the first name of the individual and the first letter of their last name, their age and gender.

In the Obama campaign’s defense, all of the information they are using is actually public and has been handed over to campaign volunteers for quite a while.

However, as Lois Beckett of Pro Publica rightly points out, the big difference is that now “you no longer have to schedule a visit to a field office and wait for a staffer to hand you a clipboard and a printed-out list of addresses.”

This means that you’re just one click away from pounding on the doors of neighbors in order to remind them to vote for their wonderful candidate who has turned his promise of the most transparent administration in history into a running joke.

Caught on video: armed robbers flee in terror from 65-year-old gun-toting woman

By Madison Ruppert: In a recently released surveillance video (see below) from a robbery in Garden Grove, California, we witness an incredible scene: five armed robbers tripping over each other in a frantic attempt to exit Continental Jewelry after the female 65-year-old owner came after them with her firearm.

With a great deal of controversy surrounding gun control in the United States and with the failed (for now) United Nations Arms Trade Treaty (which the Obama administration laughably claims will not endanger our rights as protected by the Second Amendment), I see this as even more evidence that our right to bear arms is absolutely critical.

This incident began when a white Ford SUV pulled up to the front of the store and parked in a handicapped space. Five men wearing hooded sweaters charge into the store, pointing their guns at one customer and the clerks.

The armed thugs ordered everyone in the store to get on the ground, then began opening up their pillowcases and demanding cash.

Little did they know, the 65-year-old owner was in the back of the store when she heard what was going on, quickly rushing into the store’s main room.

The incident lasted only around a minute as the men quickly panicked after the owner charged into the main room firing her gun twice.

The armed robbers were clearly frightened, evidenced by their hilarious sprint towards the door during which they are repeatedly crashing in to and falling over each other.
