How The Israel Lobby Works In Britain

By Brian CLOUGHLEY: The government of the United Kingdom is in a state of turmoil, mainly because it lacks authority as a result of holding an election in which the Conservative party was unexpectedly dealt a severe blow to its pride and popularity. Since then its indecision and incompetence have been complicated by scandal, of which the latest involved enforced resignations of two cabinet ministers, one because he indulged in sexual harassment, and the latest, the Overseas Aid minister, Ms Priti Patel, because she told lies to the prime minister about a visit to Israel.
Ms Patel admitted that her actions “fell below the high standards expected of a secretary of state” which was certainly the case, because she told lies; but her low standard expeditions appear to have involved some intriguing antics. It was reported that in August she went on “a secret trip to Israel with a lobbyist, during which she held 12 meetings, including one with Benjamin 'The Baby Butcher Of Gaza' Netanyahu, the Israeli prime minister, without informing either [Prime Minister] May or Boris Johnson, the foreign secretary.”

‘P Is For Palestine’

Reported by Gilad Atzmon: Jews are upset again. The latest kerfuffle is over a kids’ book called ‘P is for Palestine.’
The New York Post reports that a “children’s book titled “P is for Palestine” is infuriating some New York Jewish mothers — who charge that “it’s nothing but anti-Semitic propaganda disguised as a kids’ alphabet book.”
“Omg. Crazy. I’m livid at this,’’ one woman wrote on Facebook. “I can’t believe it’s real and in NYC!”
Another post reads, “You have gall advertising your incredibly politically insensitive book on this site.” I guess that supporting the oppressed is what some Jewish mothers qualify as “insensitivity.”  I wonder how these Jewish mothers would react to my soon to be written - ‘Lexicon of Sex Predators’-- I thought I’d name it:  ‘W is for Weinstein.’
Still another Facebook user wrote, “A children’s book on Palestine that doesn’t recognized the state of Israel.. . is very sad.’’ This is a bit of an exaggeration. When we talk about Palestine and Palestinians being abused on a daily basis and on racist grounds, we well know who is behind it. We do acknowledge the role of the Jewish State and Zionism.

Dissent Under Attack By Government & Corporations

By Kevin Zeese and Margaret Flowers: It is often hard to tell how close popular movements are to success or whether they are even a threat to the status quo power structure. Despite vigorous protests, it is common to worry whether or not movements are having an impact. One tell-tale sign is when government and big business interests take action to stop or silence a movement.
These days, there is a lot of push back against resistance movements in the United States. While it may be riskier for us when they fight back, it is a positive sign and means that the movement needs to escalate, build power and increase its pressure.
One absurd example of suppression came from Los Angeles where police are enforcing an ordinance that makes it a crime to speak longer than your allotted time when testifying before the city council. When someone goes 20 seconds more than the time they are allowed, police arrest the citizen.
Escalating Punishment for Protesters
This week, the trial of nearly 200 people arrested at the inauguration of Donald Trump began. Each person going to trial is facing 60 years in prison. Their collective sentence, if convicted, would total 12,000 years.
Those going to trial were kettled by police during the J20 protest. The US Attorney for Washington, DC (since DC is not a state, it does not have a district attorney, but is prosecuted by the federal government) is prosecuting everyone, even if they were a legal observer, medic or reporter, in a collective punishment conspiracy.

And now news from the US, one of the most read on the Internet today. The Pentagon admitted to collecting biological materials of Russians. Vladimir Putin claimed this two days ago at a meeting with human rights activists but many of them didn't believe his words.
The US military department now confirmed the fact but tried to justify themselves, saying they've been collecting biological materials in Russia solely for medical purposes. But is it true? Why is the research in St. Petersburg led by a US citizen? And we did find such a scientific center. Is Russia facing a biological threat? Alexei Petrov has the details.

Big Sister Is Here: Twitter Will Monitor Users Behavior 'Off Platform'

By Tyler Durden: In perhaps the most intrusive move of social media platforms' efforts signal as much virtue as possible and appease their potentially-regulating government overlords, Twitter has announced that it is cracking down on what it defines as hate-speech and not just by looking at its own site.
In what amounts to a major shift in Twitter policy, Mashable's Kerry Flynn reports that the company announced on Friday that it will be monitoring user's behavior "on and off the platform" and will suspend a user's account if they affiliate with violent organizations, according to an update to Twitter's Help Center on Friday.

Abusive Behavior

We believe in freedom of expression and open dialogue, but that means little as an underlying philosophy if voices are silenced because people are afraid to speak up. In order to ensure that people feel safe expressing diverse opinions and beliefs, we prohibit behavior that crosses the line into abuse, including behavior that harasses, intimidates, or uses fear to silence another user’s voice.
