Unsafe To Be Christian In Jerusalem Because Of The Jews: Fear, Harassment, Attacks, Rapes, Murder & Empty Holy Sites

"The White neo-Jews are annihilating us Christians in Jerusalem. I've been spat on by the Jews numerous times and we've been forbidden from our holy sights by the Jews. The Jews vandalise our Christian churches and grave yards, they dump garbage in our churches and set fire to our Christian churches in Jerusalem."

MEE: Peter Oborne reports from Jerusalem on Good Friday, where Palestinian Christians say they are facing growing harassment and restrictions.

“I feel like I have to hide who I am, in order to maintain my safety,” says Christie Pavey, a Christian resident of Jerusalem.

One resident describes being spat on and prevented from accessing holy sites, including the Church of the Holy Sepulchre.

“I’ve been spat on numerous times… and of course, forbidden from my holy sites.”

A report published this week documents a pattern of attacks - including vandalism, intimidation and assaults - contributing to what it describes as a climate in which Christians face a hostile environment.

“Christians feel increasingly unwelcome… pressured to conceal their identity.”

Religious traditions are also being disrupted.

“Normally we would start as a group… today I’m doing it on my own.”

With many now considering leaving, residents warn that a historic community is at risk.

Jesus Said That The Jews Are The Devil's Children

“Therefore I tell you that the kingdom of God will be taken away from you [The Jews] and given to a people [The Christians] who will produce its fruit.

MSS: What did Jesus really teach about Israel, the church, and the people of God? In this bold and deeply biblical teaching, Sam Shamoun explains why the New Testament does not present ethnic Israel as God’s covenant people apart from Jesus Christ. Instead, Sam Shamoun shows that the true people of God are those united to Christ in His body, the church—Jew and Gentile together as one spiritual nation.

Walking through powerful passages like John 8, Matthew 21:43, 1 Peter 2:5–10, Exodus 19:5–6, Matthew 8:5–13, and Romans 9:4–5, Sam Shamoun argues that the kingdom was taken from unbelieving Israel and given to a new nation bearing its fruits: the church of Jesus Christ. He explains that this is not “replacement theology,” but New Testament theology—because the apostles themselves apply Israel’s covenant language to believers in Christ.

At the same time, Sam Shamoun warns against going to the opposite extreme. This is not a justification for hatred of the Jewish people. On the contrary, Sam Shamoun stresses that God is not finished bringing ethnic Jews to salvation, but they must come to Christ and become part of His church like everyone else. He also highlights the immense honor given to Israel in salvation history: Jesus Christ became incarnate as a physical Israelite, and the blessed Virgin Mary, the Theotokos, was a Jewish daughter of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and David.

This message is a direct challenge to Christian Zionism, dispensationalism, and any theology that separates God’s covenant people from union with Jesus Christ. Sam Shamoun calls believers to be biblical, balanced, and uncompromising: reject anti-Jewish hatred, reject false exaltation of unbelieving Israel, and submit to the clear teaching of the New Testament that Christ’s church is the true Israel of God.
