Although today, Swedes were told to avoid public transport during rush hour and sports events were cancelled. After 239 deaths, pressure is rising on the government to do more.

Up until now, Sweden had kept schools, bars, restaurants and cinemas open while only restricting gatherings that were over 50 people. People were encouraged to observe social distancing measures, but there were no quarantine protocols enforced by force of law and unlike its Scandinavian neighbors, Sweden’s borders remained open. Commentators warned that this was “like watching a horror movie” and that it would inevitably backfire. Now that Sweden has recorded 239 COVID-19 deaths, more than Norway, Finland and Denmark combined, the country’s radical feminist government is finally imposing a stronger form of lockdown.

Shortly thereafter we were contacted by legal counsel for Dina Mackney, informing us that she held the copyright to his suicide note (since he did not leave a will and the two were still married when he ended his life). Trying to use Dina Mackney’s alleged ownership of Chris’s final words, we were threatened with legal action if we did not take down the post containing his suicide note. At the time there were a handful of other websites who were similarly threatened and who capitulated to the demands. Naturally, we refused to assist them in silencing Chris Mackney forever and were prepared to engage legally but apparently Ms. Mackney’s counsel thought better of the matter and we never heard from them again. The post in question remains up to this day, as it always will.

By Tyler Durden: US Health care systems have warned emergency room doctors and nurses that if they speak out about working conditions inside a hospital, they will be fired, reported Bloomberg. Ming Lin, an emergency room physician in Washington state, lost his job last week after he spoke to a local media outlet about the lack of protective gear for staff at Puget Sound area hospitals. Hospital staff at the NYU Langone Health system were recently warned that if they spoke to the media without authorization, they would be terminated. "Hospitals are muzzling nurses and other health-care workers in an attempt to preserve their image," said Ruth Schubert, a spokeswoman for the Washington State Nurses Association. "It is outrageous." With confirmed virus cases over 163,000 and 3,170 deaths, hospital systems across the country are seeing a massive influx of patients that is straining the system.
Italy's 10% mortality rate has been one of the most disturbing mysteries of the global pandemic. Italy's mortality rate is roughly 20x Germany's (a relatively benign 0.4%), and many multiples of China's (roughly 2.5%) rate.
