On Sunday, the Hull Daily Mail reported the news of the inquest into the death of Grant Townsend from Hull. Townsend was aged just 24 when he took his own life and while he clearly had a number of pressures and tragedies in his life, the reporting is commendable in that it makes it clear that a false rape accusation was the main reason for his death, a position echoed by comments made by his family.

Republicans are treating the Democrats’ double-standard as hypocrisy, but it is much worse than that.
