Authored by Steve Watson: Senator Rand Paul declared this week that he is already gathering signatures from lawmakers in an effort to force a vote to repeal federal mask mandates on planes.
In an Newsmax interview, Paul asserted that “what we’ve said [about] the vaccine mandates is, we’re sick and tired of the government mandating our behavior and taking our liberty away, and I’m as mad as the Canadian truckers are.”
“I want it to end,” Paul continued, adding “There’s no science behind these mask mandates, we’re just punishing our children, let’s end it.”
“It’s beginning to unravel,” Paul declared, saying that several Democratic governors are starting to “back away” from mask mandates.

The media meltdown at Johnson’s attack on Labour leader Keir Starmer isn’t about truth or principle. Apartheid regime owns UK media.
By Jonathan Cook: The media is incensed. The British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has “smeared” the Labour leader, Keir Starmer.
Fact-checkers are agreed it was groundless for Johnson to claim that Starmer failed to prosecute the disgraced late TV personality and serial sex offender Jimmy Savile when he headed the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) more than a decade ago. Savile died in 2011, having never faced justice.
An urgent retraction and apology are demanded. Some are even calling for Johnson’s resignation.
But hang on a moment. Haven’t we been here before with the defaming of a Labour leader – and only a short time ago? And tellingly, wasn’t the media’s response to those smears starkly different from the current furore?
One can certainly disagree with Räsänen... but the case is an attack on core free speech rights...

A major free speech case is brewing in the country after Member of Parliament (and former Interior Minister) Päivi Räsänen was criminally charged after tweeting a quotation from the Bible in opposition to her church’s sponsorship of an LGBT pride event.
On June 17, 2019, Räsänen asked in a Twitter post how the sponsorship was compatible with the Bible, linking to a photograph of a biblical passage, Romans 1:24-27, on Instagram. She also posted the text and image on Facebook. However, she also insisted that “The purpose [of] my tweet was in no way to insult sexual minorities. My criticism was aimed at the leadership of the church.”
