Arrested LA Arson Suspect Says She Just "Liked The Smell Of Burning Leaves"

By Tyler Durden: Los Angeles Police Department Chief Jim McDonnell said this week that an arson suspect who was arrested Tuesday in Pacoima told police she had started small fires because she "liked the smell of burning leaves."

Police detained a suspect around 5:15 p.m. Wednesday after a citizen extinguished a fire and held her near Glenoaks and Van Nuys boulevards, according to ABC7.

The woman, whose name was not released, was booked on suspicion of arson. Later, around 9:30 p.m., firefighters responded to reports of multiple trash fires near Vermont Avenue and Santa Monica Boulevard in East Hollywood.

After the performances, the judges approached Khrushchev, the ruling General Secretary of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, and asked if they might give the prize to Van Cliburn.  Khrushchev asked the judges, “Was he the best?”  The judges said, “yes.”  “Then give him the prize.”  The Soviet conductor could easily have ruined Van Cliburn’s performance, but he did not and the two went on together to make recordings. Today the sanctions would prevent both Van Cliburn’s performance and the subsequent recordings.

The cold war could have ended then, but Washington lacked the vision. The Soviet Audience poured flowers all over Van Cliburn. There were endless demands for encores.  Van Cliburn, playing better than Russians the music of Russian composers, won their hearts.

By Hal Turner: The FBI has officially closed its Office of Diversity and Inclusion (ODI) The decision comes amid mounting scrutiny from Republican lawmakers, including President-elect Donald Trump, who is set to take office on Monday.

“In recent weeks, the FBI took steps to close the Office of Diversity and Inclusion, effective by December 2024,” an agency spokesperson confirmed.

The announcement followed a letter from Republican Senator Marsha Blackburn to FBI Director Christopher Wray earlier this month. Blackburn alleged that the FBI’s emphasis on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) policies had undermined its operational priorities and “endangered” public safety, referencing a New Year’s Day terrorist attack in New Orleans.
