Accepting the resignation, the group said on Thursday that the company operating in Israeli settlements in the West Bank contributes to the "denial of rights of the Palestinian communities that we work to support."
The announcement came one day after the Hollywood actress said she was resigning her Oxfam role because of “a fundamental difference of opinion.”
"Scarlett Johansson has respectfully decided to end her ambassador role with Oxfam after eight years," a statement from Johansson's spokesman said.
"She and Oxfam have a fundamental difference of opinion in regards to the boycott, divestment and sanctions movement.”
Johansson has come under pressure for advertising products for SodaStream that produces drinks.
The controversial company runs its main site in the occupied Palestinian territories. The actress is to appear in the ad during the Super Bowl on Sunday.
