Mike Buchanan Interviewed By Radical Feminist Jo Hayward

Mike Buchanan: A frustrating interview, with a female presenter who apparently believes there should be gender balance in the House of Commons, although the vast majority of prospective parliamentary candidates are men (at least in the absence of anti-meritocratic all-women shortlists). Give me strength. It's been 36 years since Margaret Thatcher won the first of her three terms as Prime Minister.

The interview was prompted by the fact we're hoping to field a candidate in Loughborough, the moderately marginal seat (3,744 vote majority in 2010) of Nicky Morgan, Minister for Women and Equalities. She recently replaced the highly talented Michael Gove, a rare conviction politician in the cabinet, as Education Secretary.

So, what happens to gender balance when Nicky Morgan makes official appointments? The same as always happens when radical feminists are in charge. She has responsibility for the Equality and Human Rights Commission, which had nine Commissioners until recently - seven men and two women. The Chair and Deputy Chair are both women. Ms Morgan recently appointed two more Commissioners, both of them women. The story is here https://j4mb.wordpress.com/2015/01/29.... One of the men is a peer, the other a professor. They will clearly be familiar with the spectrum of human rights assaults faced by men and boys in the UK in 2015. Ha.
