Russell suggests that only now are they trying to sell us a reality. I suggest that it was ever so.
In the final analysis I would say worship no one, but do consider what
you stand for deeply and once you have done that, do stand for
something.
As long as you realise that along the way much has been omitted and much
new work included from the original new testament to make us conform to
power structures. I cannot believe that the man who whipped the bankers
outside his father's house and the man who asked for a coin and then
stated render unto Caesar, is the same guy.
I know that the old testament's proverbs do not belong
to one people, but are a collection of historically known
wisdoms from various cultures.
Don't throw out the baby with the dirty bath water, but simultaneously
consider every line critically and try to make your own decisions.
