The FBI Unveils Its Orwellian Facial Recognition Database With 52 Million Photos To Be Stored

By Michael Krieger: In April of this year, I highlighted the FBI’s disturbing and Orwellian plan to launch a massive biometric database known as the Next Generation Identification (NGI) System in the post, FBI Plans to Have 52 Million Photos in Facial Recognition Database by 2015. In that piece I noted that:

The latest article from the EFF that caught my attention was published a couple of days ago, and shines light on the disturbing push by the FBI to create an extensive facial recognition database, which will include criminal and non-criminal photos alike. The information received by the EFF via a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request, demonstrates that the feds may have a mugshot database with up to 52 million photos by 2015.
The program is called Next Generation Identification (NGI), and the aspect of it that bothers the EFF most is the fact that non-criminal and criminal photos will be combined in the same database. So someone who has no criminal record can suddenly be flagged as a suspect just because an algorithm says so. What’s worst, research shows that the potential for false positive identification increases as the dataset increases.

By Dr. David Ley: There has been a tremendous amount of hyperbole about porn use, with many authors and doomsayers claiming that viewing porn triggers dangerous neurochemical changes in the brain. But groundbreaking new research says that it just ain’t so, and that people who are 'problem users' of porn are actually people with 'high libidos', NOT people whose brains have been warped by sex and porn.
Popular antiporn advocates such as YourBrainonPorn and the group called Fight The New Drug argue that porn use is a public health issue, not a free speech issue. These advocates often assert that if people and society only knew the damage that porn use was causing to our brains, that we would regulate it, in ourselves, and in the access that is allowed.
Over recent years, these fear-based arguments often invoke brain-related lingo, and throw around terms like dopamine bursts and desensitization, to describe what allegedly happens in the brains of people who watch too much porn. Brain science is hot these days, and it’s attention-getting to use brain and neuroscience lingo in arguments because it sounds so gosh-darned convincing and scientific. The problem is, there has been extremely little research that actually looks at the brains and behaviors of people using porn, and no good, experimental research that has looked at the brains of those who are allegedly addicted to porn. So, all of these arguments are theoretical, and based on rhetoric, inferences and applying other research findings to try to explain sexual behaviors.

By Michael Krieger: Anyone who reads Liberty Blitzkrieg consistently will be aware of my disdain for the company Facebook. There are many reasons for my negative sentiments, but at its core is the company’s complete disrespect toward its own users.
Facebook made major headlines earlier this summer when it was caught in a massive controversy over its decision to intentionally manipulate its users’ feeds in order to affect their emotional state, something I covered in the article: Was the US Department of Defense Behind Facebook’s Controversial Manipulation Study?
Well the company has found itself at the center of controversy once again. This time related to its Messenger app. CBC News reports that:

In August, Facebook announced that it would no longer be allowing its users to communicate via private message on mobile phones without first downloading its proprietary “Messenger” app.
Many of the social network’s users were annoyed — if not outraged — to learn that the free app was “mandatory” if they wanted to continue using Facebook on the go.

No, I’m not talking about ISIS. The real culprit is the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, one of the America’s closest global allies.

I have highlighted the inhumanity of the Saudi regime frequently recently in order to demonstrate the incredible hypocrisy of U.S. foreign policy. While America’s phony politicians and useless mainstream media will often hype anti-Chrtistian bigotry and humanitarian issues when it suits the status quo message, the true driver of U.S. foreign policy can be summarized with two words: CORPORATE PROFITS.
Of course, it’s not the average American who benefits from militarty-industrial complex profit margins. No, the American public is offered as a sacrifice on the alter of the cash flows for the 0.01%. The American citizenry is expected to lose its sons and daughters in battle abroad, while surrendering a middle class lifestyle at home, just so the political class and its oligarch masters can add another couple billion to their bank accounts. If American foreign policy actually had an non-economic motive to it, we wouldn’t be close allies with an inhumane feudal kingdom, which was also likely responsible for the attacks of 9/11.

Why India Needs A Men’s Commission: A Study

By Partha Sadhukhan: A recent writ petition in the Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court has created ripples in Indian society (a copy of the petition is here). The writ, filed by Indian Police Services officer Amitabh Thakur, stresses law misuse by women and the lack of protection of men from such law misuse as the reasons behind demanding a men’s commission. Although these grounds are significant, there are many more reasons to establish a men’s commission as well as a men’s welfare ministry in India. We need to promote and protect the welfare of Indian men because:

1. > 90%, if not more, of war casualties are men.
2. Men are more prone to death at work. Almost all dangerous jobs are done by men.
3. > 80% of murder/homicide victims are men. Now a woman can have a “clean cheat” to murder a man based on an allegation that he wanted to rape her. And the government has provided her a gun (named Nirbheek). So this figure will increase, with no justice for men.
4. In > 90% of divorce cases, men pay alimony, and in most of these they still lose child custody.
