Israel is a fine example of what trouble humans can get themselves into given enough technology and denial. Mother Earth is marshaling her historical response to over-reaching desert civilizations. She’s never personal but she’s harsh.
Many, if not most, Jews in the Diaspora support Israel reasoning, “If things go badly wrong in my country, I know Israel will take me and my family in.” It’s fair to ask them, “How? With what?

By Dr. Paul Craig Roberts: Let’s be sure that we understand that Assange is not charged with anything related to Russia or Russiagate or even with breaking a law. Assange is charged with being in a conspiracy with Manning “to commit computer intrusion.” The charge is not that Assange succeeded in hacking a government computer and obtaining classified information. It merely says that Assange discussed the possibility with Manning and had an intention to hack a computer. Most likely, even this noncrime is an invention of prosecutors instructed to indict Assange in the absence of any evidence. It is all that they could come up with.

It is an attack on the free press. It is an attack on free speech. It is an attack on our right to know what our government is doing with our money in our name. They, and so many more, were imprisoned because they told the truth about their governments.
Repressive governments do not want their citizens to know that they are up to so they insist on controlling the media. We are taught, at the same time, that we have a free press whose job it is to uncover the corruption in our system so that we can demand our political leaders make some changes or face unemployment. That, we are told, is what makes us different from the totalitarian.
The arrest of Assange is a canary in a coal mine to warn us that something is very wrong with our system.

1. Governments’ (monstrous and criminal) behavior should not be secret. People should know what their government is doing, and what a powerful foreign government is doing to their own countries. The actual results of the work of WikiLeaks have been hugely beneficial.
2. If U.S. courts were to get busy prosecuting the crimes exposed by WikiLeaks, rather than trying to turn the act of revealing them into some sort of crime, they would simply not have time for the latter.

In fact, the program could be best described as nothing short of diabolical.
