“These would undoubtedly have a significant battlefield impact,” a US official said to the outlet. CNN further acknowledges that "Cluster munitions, which the US has stockpiled in large numbers since phasing them out in 2016, could help fill that gap, officials said."

The White House would likely receive significant support from bipartisan lawmakers in Congress who also shill for the MIC, given that's precisely where the initiative to supply Kiev with cluster munitions originated. 

In March a Republican letter to the president chastised the White House's "reluctance to provide Ukraine the right type and amount of long-range fires and maneuver capability to create."

That particular letter had been signed by influential, high-level GOP Congress members, including: Jim Risch, the top Republican on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Roger Wicker, the top Republican on the Senate Armed Services Committee, Mike McCaul, the chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, Mike Rogers the chairman of the House Armed Services Committee.

The New York Post reports new rules were drafted by the New York City Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) that could order nearly 1,700 pizzerias across five boroughs to reduce carbon emissions by 75%. One city official said about 100 pizzerias could be impacted. 

"All New Yorkers deserve to breathe healthy air and wood and coal-fired stoves are among the largest contributors of harmful pollutants in neighborhoods with poor air quality," DEP spokesman Ted Timbers wrote in a statement Sunday. He continued:

"This common-sense rule, developed with restaurant and environmental justice groups, requires a professional review of whether installing emission controls is feasible."

By Philip Marey, Senior US Strategist at Rabobank: For the first time this hiking cycle, the Bank of England delivered an upward surprise: it voted by a 7-2 majority to raise its policy rate by 50bp to 5.00%. Economists didn’t expect this. It is likely that Wednesday’s shock inflation figure frightened the majority of the MPC, prompting it to take more drastic action right away. The MPC doesn’t dare to rely on models or forward-looking indicators too much, and thinks it safer to set policy based on what they are actually seeing in the rear view mirror. It seeks to regain the initiative on inflation, with a reaction function based on wage growth and services inflation. It is willing to break the economy to restore policy credibility. Yesterday’s 50bp hike will likely do little to reduce short-term inflation, but will definitely add to the mortgage squeeze in front of us. The risk of an accident has increased. We still expect two 25bp rate increases at the two upcoming meetings, with obvious upside risk. In early May, Ukraine's military claimed to have intercepted Russian ballistic missiles for the first time in the conflict, using a US-made anti-air defense system. The Kremlin rejected the claims, but did confirm it had been using hypersonic missiles within specific or limited operations and long-range launches.

Putin said Wednesday, as translated in TASS: "About half of the units of Russia’s Strategic Missile Force have been equipped with the latest Yars missile systems and are being rearmed with modern Avangard warheads."
