How Criminal Politiians Are Turned Into Saints

By Tom DiLorenzo: The week-long deification of the late John McCain was quite the deep-state performance:  Three “state funerals”(in Phoenix, D.C., and Annapolis) accompanied by the constant clucking of the “mainstream” media about how the epitome of a deep-state insider — son and grandson of U.S. Navy admirals, mass murderer of Vietnamese peasants, “Keating Five” criminal conspirator, friend of “the right kind” of Middle East terrorists, lifelong government employee whose senate office was ground zero for defense industry lobbyists for the past several decades — is somehow an anti-establishment “maverick.” The televised sobbing of the very appropriately named Senator Jeff Flake was rich, as were proposals to name a government building after McCain and the seemingly endless feigned sorrow in the voices of  television talking heads.

OMG, She Cheered For White Men!

StudioBrule: Like many other academic fields today, Medieval studies has been rocked by claims that white supremacism and attendant far-right isms are deeply imbedded in the discipline and must be rooted out—in fact that there is nothing more important to do in the field than talk about white supremacism and heteropatriarchy, and that anyone not willing to do it must themselves be white supremacists whose denials, or even silence, harm people of colour.

Palestine In Pictures: August 2018

The Electronic Intifada: Fifteen Palestinians were killed by Israeli death forces IDF during the month of August. A further two Palestinians died of wounds sustained during Great March of Return protests in Gaza months earlier.
Ahmad Mahamid, a 30-year-old Palestinian citizen of Israel, was shot and killed after attempting to stab police in Jerusalem on 17 August. His family said that the man was mentally unwell and that the stabbing was not politically motivated.
All other fatalities during the month occurred in or near Gaza.
Inas Muhammad Khamash, 23, her unborn, full-term child Hayat and toddler daughter Bayan were killed when Israel bombed their home in central Gaza’s Deir al-Balah on 8 August.
The bombing was part of a two-day military assault in which Israel struck 150 targets across the coastal territory, destroying a multi-story building housing a prominent cultural center in reprisal for a medium-range rocket fired from Gaza towards Beersheva that resulted in no injuries or damage.

Human Rights Alert - No Seriously: Woman Files Discrimination Complaint For Right To Work Braless

By Tyler Durden: A Canadian woman has filed a human rights complaint claiming her previous employer, the Osoyoos Golf Club, discriminated against her with a requirement that all female staff wear a bra, reports the CBC
Christina Schell (via cbc.ca)
"It's gender-based and that's why it's a human rights issue," she said. "I have nipples and so do the men."
However, some braless women feel discomfort when managers mandate they must wear one in the workplace — a rule that could be deemed discriminatory, because it only applies to one gender.
"It's unnecessary," said Kate Gosek who works as a cook at McDonald's in Selkirk, Man. The 19-year-old says several managers recently harassed her about not wearing a bra, including one who prodded her shoulder in search of one.
"She just told me that I should put on a bra because, McDonald's — we are a polite restaurant and no one needs to see that." -CBC
