By Gilad Atzmon: It took seven years for Sir Chilcot and his team to reach a set of conclusions that every Brit capable of thought understood back in November, 2013. The inquiry produced a damning assessment of Blair’s conduct as well as the British military. But the Chilcot Inquiry failed to expose the crucial close ties between Blair’s criminal war, the Jewish Lobby and Israel. At the time Britain entered the criminal war against Iraq, Blair’s chief funders were Lord ‘cashpoint’ Levy and the LFI(Labour Friends of Israel). The prime advocates for the immoral interventionist war within the British press were Jewish Chronicle writers David Aaronovitch and Nick Cohen. The attorney general that gave the green light for the war was Lord Goldsmith. In 2008 The Guardian revealed that the “Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) successfully fought to keep secret any mention of Israel contained on the first draft of the controversial.” Israel was conspicuously engaged in the vast production of WMDs. If Britain and America had any genuine concerns about WMDs, bombing Tel Aviv would have been the way to go. In 2003 some intelligence experts insisted that the Iraq’s WMD dossier was initially produced in Tel Aviv and only ‘sexed up’ in London.
Afshin Rattansi is joined by a former political exile from Saddam Hussein's Iraq, Sami Ramadani. And, the deputy Head of Baghdad Council’s Security Committee tell us what it's like for civilians in Iraq now. Plus, was the war all Tony Blair's fault?
Today's release of the long-awaited "Chilcot Report" on the UK's participation in the 2003 Iraq war is a stark reminder of the lies that UK and US leaders used to fuel the war machine. When do we get our own commission to hold the US liars responsible for the disaster their war created?
By Enrico Braun: Vladimir Putin has finally taken the kid gloves off. The Russian president was meeting with foreign journalists at the conclusion of the Saint Petersburg International Economic Forum on June 17th, when he left no one in any doubt that the world is headed down a course which could lead to nuclear war.
Putin railed against the journalists for their "tall tales" in blindly repeating lies and misinformation provided to them by the United States on its anti-ballistic missile systems being constructed in Eastern Europe. He pointed out that since the Iran nuclear deal, the claim the system is to protect against Iranian missiles has been exposed as a lie.
Sandman: There is a story called "Panic Button For Women On Mobile Phone New Hell For Men". Apparently India has implemented a law that requires all mobile phones to have a "panic button" & GPS. Here is an excerpt from the article: "Now, the new mobile phones with the said Panic Button, and GPS system, which is going to be toys at the hands of women from 2017, will enable women to implicate any man of their choice on streets, any time they wish, even without the knowledge of the men, on whom the women may decide to prey. Rouge, rascal, debauched women may behave arbitrarily in public places/ public transports. Any disagreement with them may put men in to trouble. They may just press the panic button. Police will come flying following GPS location. And voice raiser innocent men may be booked under several Anti-Male laws.
By Kenneth Eade: “Perception Management” was pioneered in the 1980’s under the Reagan administration in order to avoid the public opposition to future wars that was seen during the Vietnam War.
The United States Department of Defense defines perception management as:
Actions to convey and/or deny selected information and indicators to foreign audiences to influence their emotions, motives, and objective reasoning as well as to intelligence systems and leaders at all to influence official estimates, ultimately resulting in foreign behaviors and official actions favorable to the originator’s objectives. In various ways, perception management combines truth projection, operations, security, cover and deception, and psychological operations.
At this point I’d like to remind everyone that crime in the U.S. has been dropping since the 1990’s. So why has domestic police force militarization been growing exponentially since then? Ostensibly, it is for the “war on terror” and to keep us safe. In reality, we know this is bullshit. Just like the NSA’s unconstitutional spying hasn’t stopped a single terrorist attack, turning local cops into a domestic army hasn’t done a single thing to make us safe. To the contrary, it is creating an environment where the general public harbors increased resentment and skepticism toward police, and the police view the citizenry as the “enemy.” This takes the societal tinderbox that already exists and makes it downright explosive. Ferguson is just the latest example of the tension bubbling to the surface, but there will likely be many more in the future.
