A top academic and government advisor warns that the UK will experience a civil war within the next five years caused by the “destruction of legitimacy” brought about by the government’s failure to secure the border.

Professor David Betz made the comments during a podcast appearance with journalist and author Louise Perry.

Betz teaches at Kings College London and has advised or worked with the UK MOD and GCHQ as well as being a Senior Fellow of the Foreign Policy Research Institute.

By Dr. Paul Craig Roberts: In the interview Nima asks if federal judges will block the Trump administration’s efforts to stop the looting of the federal budget. Nima made reference to a recent Supreme Court decision ordering the Trump Administration to release $2 billion from USAID to two private contractors–the AIDS Vaccine Advocacy Coalition and the Journalism Development Network. The latter is a collection of journalists and some Eastern European and Central Asian news organizations paid by US taxpayers to help Eastern Europeans and Central Asians “better understand how organized crime and corruption affect their lives.” Somehow Congress decided that this is in the interest of the US taxpayers. The former “accelerates the ethical development and equitable delivery of effective HIV prevention options, as part of a comprehensive and integrated pathway to global health equity.” In other words, the private organization is paid by US taxpayers to find ways for homosexuals to have safe sex. The organization’s funding by the Gates and Rockefeller Foundations is insufficient to do the job, so Congress passed the obligation on to US taxpayers.

Sentencing By Identity Group

By William Collins - aka MRA-UK: By way of a coda to my last post on “gendered law” we will soon have sentencing by identity group – including by race and sex.

The Sentencing Council’s Guidelines on “Imposition of community and custodial sentences” comes into force on 1^st April 2025. This includes guidelines on, amongst other things, when a “pre-sentencing report” (PSR) would normally be considered necessary. The relevance of a PSR is that, quote,

“A pre-sentence report can be pivotal in helping the court decide whether to impose a custodial or community order and, where relevant, what particular requirements or combination of requirements are most suitable for an individual offender on either a community order or a suspended custodial sentence.”

A PSR is not mandatory but an offender for whom a PSR is carried out will generally receive a less severe sentence than one who has no PSR. Sentencing Council’s Guidelines state,

“A pre-sentence report will normally be considered necessary if the offender belongs to one (or more) of the following cohorts:…(amongst others)….
