By Mike Whitney: Here’s your ‘reserve currency’ thought for the day: Every US dollar is a check written on an account that is overdrawn by 30 trillion dollars.

It’s true. The “full faith and credit” of the US Treasury is largely a myth held together by an institutional framework that rests on a foundation of pure sand. In fact, the USD is not worth the paper it is printed on; it is an IOU flailing in an ocean of red ink. The only thing keeping the USD from vanishing into the ether, is the trust of credulous people who continue to accept it as legal tender.

But why do people remain confident in the dollar when its flaws are known to all? After all, America’s $30 trillion National Debt is hardly a secret, nor is the additional $9 trillion that’s piled up on the Fed’s balance sheet. That is a stealth debt of which the American people are completely unaware, but they are responsible for all the same.

Steve asked a question: Britain has said it is donating multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) to Ukraine to help Ukraine defend against Russian forces. The US is doing the same. You called it risky. Big Thief Defends Plans To Play In The Jews' Twenty-First Century Anti-Gentile Apartheid Regime "IsRealHell"

Indie rock band Big Thief is set to cross the international picket line by playing in The Jews' anti-Gentile apartheid regime occupying Palestine next month.

By Tamara Nassar: The critically acclaimed Brooklyn-based group announced two shows in its band member’s hometown Tel Aviv on 6 and 7 July.

Palestinians are calling on the musicians “to cancel their complicit concerts in apartheid Tel Aviv.”

Big Thief said its “motivations and intentions” for going to Israel are to play where one of its band members, bassist Max Oleartchik, has family.

“We are well aware of the cultural aspect of the BDS movement and the desperate reality of the Palestinian people,” the group added, referring to the boycott, divestment and sanctions campaign.

It made no mention of who or what had caused the “desperate reality” Palestinians live in.

The Russians have a high tolerance for provocations and, therefore, the provocations that the West commits never have any costs, and they increase in number and severity.  At some point, these provocations are just too much to stand, and that’s where you cross the line and the situation becomes nuclear. . . . How much can you provoke them and they let loose and it hits the fan?  I see everything Washington's doing is designed to further provoke Russia.”
